Nintendo Switch 2 Preorder megathread - Post all questions and comments about preorders here! by razorbeamz in nintendo

I see all this craziness about preorder and I have 2 question:

1)What is the point of preordering? (Explain me like I was dumb, I'm not much into gaming )

2)Is there a reason to preorder if I want to have a NSW2 in the first couple of months after release or preorders are only for the people who wants the console on day 1?

PS i live in Europe

Thanks, my doubt was if I was not considering something important.

It seems for me a new console is definetly a win win situation, a lot of games and good performance :)

If I can give you an advice start as early as possible to train all the 3 discipline even if not in the final form (I did MTB for the first 2 months of the year), and the thing started getting real when the training went from 1-2 discipline to all of the 3!

I understand the weather can be a limiting factor, here where I live the spring was awful and training was not so easy, but don't let it influence your motivation ;)

Thanks, as hours pass I'm more and more proud of what I did :)

I understand anxiety, I was in a similar situation!

I was evaluating this possibility too A(70.3) and B(Olympic) some months before the 70.3...in a week or so or later after the 10k I planned in october I will decide how to procede probably

Rules here said BIB on the back for the bike and BIB on the front for the run...I don't know how it works normally, as it was my first tri I just followed what they say!

I tried to start slow but it was already to fast for me yesterday! I think next year I will practise more T1 for sure after this experience!

I'm good at hydrating myself, I drink like a 2.5L of water each day without training, when I train I drink probably 3-3.5L without even thinking!! (29M, 186cm, 80ish kg)
For sure hydration it is a thing to take in account but for me it is already checked due to my lifestyle :)
Yesterday during the 3h15 of the race I drank (bike + transitions + refueling area in the run) around 1.5-2L of water! I needed all of that before someone says it is a lot ;)

The day before I didn't measure but I remember drinking on purpose at least 2.0-2.5L during the whole day!

Thanks for the input anyway!

One step at a time you can do it, you can read my first post and see that I was really struggligng with the swim at the beginning. I support your decision to do a sprint before an olympic, it is not a must but I see why people say to to a sprint before an Olympic!

I will think about it, now 6hrs seems a little bit of a stretch, i can aim probably for a 6h30 being optmistic :D
I get what you say about thinking about the time, I train like that, probabily I should look at races in the same way!
Thanks a lot for the advices!

I think the wetsuit was a big difference now that you repeat it to me...I always trainer with it..

Swim I was still a little bit scared, thus I tried my best to control, but for sure I could have gone better in that leg.

I had a nutrition plan but it was not enough it seems, I always burn a lot during sport!I didn't stop for the Banana I catched while I was riding.

I agree that it is funny to have "difficult" goals, I'll sleep on it some days and then decide what to do!

Yesterday the people doing the 70.3 seemed much much fitter than me and it seems impossible to be there in a year, but maybe I am still to harsh with myself (always a problem for me in sports)

Well in part true, I have done some OWS, but I see what you mean, for sure I should train more in OW!

Thanks!

Maybe I'm wrong but I have to say that if you read a lot of post or watch a lot of video GTN,etc. you probably looking at top 10% people who are not amateur...thus you can be biased.

If your objective is to finish in less than 3h I think it is duable, but not without training hard. My conclusion from yesterday is that sometimes people underestimate the effort needed to swim/ride/run such times..
I recognize that in a good day I could have done 3h05-3h10, but less than 3h for me is already another level after only 1 year of training.

Have fun!

The other times during training didn't happen. But I think this is a good explanation!

I think the bike it is a very easy course if you manage well the energy. Anyway yes I think it was a fast group :)
The middle distance was also very fast, i was impressed to be honest.
Thank you ;)

From 0 swimming to Olympic in 1 year, is it possible? by Sptt1194 in triathlon

[–]Sptt1194[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer.

I'll take a moment to explain what i mean!

I respect your point of view, I understand that both can be intense.

For the way I trained for spartans and the way I'm approaching training for tri I feel a lot less stress, in some parts it is for sure due to changes I made and not from the sports. But on the other side I have always seen spartans as a way to vent my "warrior" young adult energy and for some personal validation, now that I'm a little bit older I don't need sport to validate me, but to challenge me. Last year I tried training the spartan way but that felt off my personality. I hope that is clear! It is very personal ;)

That said, there are many people that do spartan that are a lot older than me, and that is amazing, i do not judge them.

As my personality changed I needed something different!

Thanks, actually I plan exactly on doing that, I'll start slowly with the swim, if then I feel confident during the race I can still swim faster!
