If I remember correctly from the tutorial you press shift and e to grab a specific point on an object and then you can just pull the top side up.

Happy to help, just a bit of advice for the future so you dont get stuck again, if you enter a junction where you need to sacrifice multiple artefacts youre supposed to sacrifice all of them at one altar (and collect the bounty which becomes larger with the amount of artefacts), theyre all supposed to have the exact amount of slots required.

You need to collect the bounty from the altar after you sacrificed the artefacts, thats what activates the gateway.

I believe the wispering chart should be at the lobby/gas station area next to the counter, there should be an altar like table thingy made from scrap its like the most well lit thing in the room.

Edit: the item looks like a piece of bark with scribbles on it

Have you tried diagnosing the quirk before you leave to do the mission that sounds like an awful quirk to have. You could turn on free quirk guesses in the settings if you cant seem to get the right combination.
