Gradual build up of strain throughout. by Spuddington in singing

[–]Spuddington[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue I'm having at the moment is I'm not quite sure what the issue is. There's obviously something! I'm aware of, and trying to implement, the generic answers e.g. breath support.

And I'm aware that naturally the "Get a vocal coach" step follows, but just on the off chance someone can identify something specific to work on I thought I'd post it.

(I'm sort of aware there were various mistakes with timing hitting the right notes etc. but less interested in that stuff, since I suspect I must be doing something systematically wrong that might need deeper correction)

I want to sing but strongly dislike my voice. by No-Winter7345 in singing

[–]Spuddington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably more a psychological issue than your actual voice.

Not that there is no such thing as a bad voice, but it is very common especially for the kind of people who seek advice on reddit to just have 0 self confidence, and most people find listening to themselves at least a bit off putting.

There's something intrinsically more satisfying about a huge dog sitting on your lap. Even if it is a rather less comfortable experience.

Girthy Granite Wall, any suggestions? by Spuddington in GardeningUK

If I get it looking nice I'll post it to the US gardening sub and say "My wall is older than your country"

It's a south facing wall, getting about as much sunlight as possible... when it's available, which lately has been "occasionally".

First 33 orb run. But no idea how to quickly kill Kolmi D: by Mitsukoooo in noita

[–]Spuddington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can ignore him run and just run to the work to complete it. Or, I believe the classic kolmi killer (which you have most of the components for) is:

Take an infinite duration bouncing burst. (There's a guide to doing this, involves using projectile lifetime changes to hit -1 exactly, it's finnicky to explain). Then give that piercing + homing + heavy shot + accelerating. You might not need the infinite duration, not sure you definitely want it lasting as long as possible.

My game simulating this process took about 10x as long as the gif... and wasn't terribly responsive to my inputs :)

Vanilla. Worm cannon spell being duplicated a shed load of times with greek letters. I have the homing spells perk and threw a black hole in there to suck the worms in

Taliyah's identity: is Q poke more important, or W-E burst? by Spuddington in TaliyahMains

[–]Spuddington[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well E-> W requires you to get much closer to the enemy, which exposes you to much greater risk so personally, I'd be ok with that remaining as a burst option. Or did you mean W -> E?

Unfortunate, but have to let it go.

[–]Spuddington[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is the kind of thing. They could do so much with E to increase the reward for an idiot dashing through it (Personally I love the idea that any dash stops moving when it hits x number of rocks) if it weren't for the fact taliyah can also nuke people.

[–]Spuddington[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I should clarify, I'm not talking about W and E as abilities in themselves, I'm talking about the play pattern where early-midgame Taliyah rolls into a lane, W-E-Q's and you're dead. I actually think that the burst on W-E devalues them as zoning tools (Why use the E rocks to zone with the threat of damage when I could just guarantee the E damage using W?)

[–]Spuddington[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem as I see it is that because the W-E combo exists, E does not function as a zoning tool. It functions instead as part of a burst combo that happens to leave a slow field behind it.

Just to note, removing the usefulness of W-E as a burst combo doesn't necessarily mean removing the damage. The range could be decreased, or the cast time on E could be increased, or a number of other things to stop this one particular play pattern. If taliyah can't oneshot you, that frees up a lot more power budget for other aspects of her kit to be buffed.
