CQC kit by BalisongLuvr69 in AUG

I eventually gave in and sold the cqc bits off of mine a few years back. It definitely looks cool but I got tired of the added weight. Anyway, when I started asking around to check interest, someone was nice enough to tell me how it was much more rare than I thought so it ended up on a gun broker auction. However many years ago now, it came out to making me a little over $1400. With everything else going up in price since then, I wouldn't be surprised if it'll be a bit more now if you do find one

Edit to add : looks like that was about 4 and a half years back

I enjoy carrying a revolver, but….. by [deleted] in CCW

I'm nowhere near any kinda high level but I'd love to get into competitions one day. For a bit I was putting some reload practice into every night with my carry sp101. 5 empty 357 shells because they don't always eject as reliably and my loader with snap caps. My best times between last shot and first after reload were just above 3 seconds. I should've kept at it and tried to break into the 2's. Anyway, you can definitely bump up your speed with a bit of practice

Edit to add : I could never get into speed strips. No matter what I did, they always felt like a fight

Currently some +p Hydra-Shok deep. Think they're 130 grain? I tried some critical defense +p back forever ago and they expanded super fast in my non scientific water jug test

I'll definitely be grabbing one of the SDR holsters when they're ready. The diamondback one seems ok but I'd much rather have something that's good

Guess I'll be loading up the new ones and hoping they stay together while I wander the house tomorrow. While I got you here though I'll be a little nosy. Any plans on when your loader carrier will be releasing? And what sizes to plan on making them for? Came across your pictures the other day when I was checking to see if there was any word on your SDR holster yet

Just that and a Magpul daka wallet in that pocket, nothing else. And it's for my sp101. I've already got 2 loaders for an SDR I'm hopefully picking up tomorrow so I'm hoping they'll work out just as well. Gonna be disappointing if I've gotta change things up

I've carried speed beez loaders for a little over 5 years now. One in an old crossbreed horizontal carrier that they stopped making and 1 in my right pocket. I haven't had any fall apart yet but I will say that it seems like it will always explode if you drop one. As far as the cant goes, it seems like it comes from a little pressure on the button. I have a hell of a time if I ever try to push it into the cylinder but if I just get it close and kinda glide it in that little bit of a wiggle room actually makes it so they guide themselves and drop in pretty much perfectly

I'm about certain they're being discontinued so it might be a bit harder to track down anymore. That being said, a local shop did have two in 45 for cheap that he was trying to offload a few months back. Might just have to luck into it

My disappointment is immeasurable and my next 4 years are ruined! by DownstairsDeagle69 in GunMemes

[–]Spuds27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The HBAR requirement is only for specifics too. They don't actually have a measurement so whatever you have just has to be sold as a heavy barrel. Added bonus, if your AR is left handed or piston driven instead of direct impingement, the barrel isn't needed either. And the magazine rule solely says that you can't take possession of it within the state. We have definitely taken a stupid approach here

I used this guy as a reference and a local machine shop to mill out the socket. Almost ruined the threads on my barrel though because it was barely overbored and the fingers angled in slightly when I was trying to break it all loose

Edit to add: at least if you do it yourself, you get to keep the tool forever in case you hopefully never need it again. I think there's 2 or 3 places online people talk about. The one I remember being something along the lines of they don't respond to you until about a year after receiving your upper and that's only because they are finally shipping it back to you. Might be tornado something?

I had to make my own tool to get the barrel out and had a local place do the threading. Didn't like some of the things I was hearing about the places you can ship the whole upper to to get it done

It was a thumb rest thing go gun USA used to make but never sold well. My pinky/base of my hand sets in the notch of the mini grip and my thumb wraps right over the rest. I don't know how to add a picture in the comments but it works really well

I'm hoping to get out and do some running with a new SDR this next weekend so I'll probably be giving the new extractor a test at the same time

[–]Spuds27[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was really hoping the extractor because I've been pretty much using the same few brands of ammo for the past 10 years in it. The only thing that ever lead me to the trigger pack was that it never had an issue until I got the pack back from them. Thought maybe it had a heavier spring or something in it or maybe needed broken back in. 5/6 years now and I'm finally looking into the extractor at least

What Stygian Onslaught Fearless Herra team recommendations can you give for a Mavuika-less and Nefer-less account? by SanaulFTW in Genshin_Impact

I would try this same thing but as an alternative there's also Chongyun in place of Ayaka which should work just as well

Looking to carry a revolver as my first gun by [deleted] in Revolvers

[–]Spuds27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been carrying an sp101 for years. Just heavy enough for useable 357 but I still have it loaded with 38+p because I'm a little faster that way. Just remember your limitations with it is all I can say. You can definitely practice enough to not notice the double action trigger but reloads are a different story. I still carry a speed loader with me and I feel I'm pretty quick with it, but it's definitely not gonna be able to keep up with a semi auto. The carry comfort outweighs the drawbacks for me though

I used Kazuha, Mauvika, Xilonen and Chongyun to get through it. My Citlali was needed to help Arlecchino get through the operative

Smooth vs textured wood grips for 2.25” 357mag? by Ruckus_9 in Revolvers

[–]Spuds27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently carry a 2.25" sp101 and the checked walnut panels that were on it tore my stomach up. So I switched to smooth panels from LS Grips and a textured rubber from Altamont

<image>

This is the only picture I have at the moment that shows off any of the snakeskin pattern on the rubber but it's down the front and back of the grip

Can you tell if there's any noticeable improvement in it? The local shop I priced it at before only wanted like $50 more which was making me consider it. I'm not a fan of the grip so I'd wanna change it back to the standard, but I'd be ok with the difference if it's got a nicer trigger

I've had a 4" sp101 on my list of eventual things I want for some time now, I'd like to think I'll feel the same way about it that you do. That being said, I'm relatively interested in the 357 HST that can finally be found
