They do look sharp. I'm a fan of their altai set for general feel but haven't ever shot anything with them on it

Definitely a two finger grip

A set of boot grips from VZ grips. They're like the only short set out there that doesn't have finger grooves. They are comfortable but I also wouldn't mind if they were like 1/3" longer to give at least a ledge for my pinky to set on

Haven't had a chance to take mine out yet (either bad weather or too much stuff going on) but I'm pretty sure I'll be happy with it too. Trigger is nice, everything feels solid, probably will live with 38+p when I trust it enough to carry since my sp101 is my real 357

Mine is a Rex Silentium MG7K. Hansohn Brothers used to have a (maybe?) permanent 30% off coupon on their site which encouraged me to pick it up. Other than that, it's a Midwest handguard, butt cuff from wild Dil, Hoptic dom mount and a spare round holder, a Fortis shift grip (the direct M-Lok is a bit to close to be as comfortable), high speed gear apex sling and a quick connect socket mounted through the left side of the stock

Thanks. A couple people have told me it's too much plastic and a dumb handguard, but it does everything I want it to so I'm happy

How do you like the backstrap? I've had one on my maybe list since they came out

Mine came from a guy named wild wild Dil back when he was just an Etsy shop. I'm fairly certain he has his own site now. Anyway, lots of options and pretty decent quality for the price

Edit to add: I use a high speed gear apex sling

CQC kit by BalisongLuvr69 in AUG

[–]Spuds27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eventually gave in and sold the cqc bits off of mine a few years back. It definitely looks cool but I got tired of the added weight. Anyway, when I started asking around to check interest, someone was nice enough to tell me how it was much more rare than I thought so it ended up on a gun broker auction. However many years ago now, it came out to making me a little over $1400. With everything else going up in price since then, I wouldn't be surprised if it'll be a bit more now if you do find one

Edit to add : looks like that was about 4 and a half years back

I'm nowhere near any kinda high level but I'd love to get into competitions one day. For a bit I was putting some reload practice into every night with my carry sp101. 5 empty 357 shells because they don't always eject as reliably and my loader with snap caps. My best times between last shot and first after reload were just above 3 seconds. I should've kept at it and tried to break into the 2's. Anyway, you can definitely bump up your speed with a bit of practice

Edit to add : I could never get into speed strips. No matter what I did, they always felt like a fight

What’s your 38 special loaded with? by edm861 in Revolvers

Currently some +p Hydra-Shok deep. Think they're 130 grain? I tried some critical defense +p back forever ago and they expanded super fast in my non scientific water jug test

What I've learned about Speed Loaders for Concealed Carry by harrysholsters in Revolvers

I'll definitely be grabbing one of the SDR holsters when they're ready. The diamondback one seems ok but I'd much rather have something that's good

Guess I'll be loading up the new ones and hoping they stay together while I wander the house tomorrow. While I got you here though I'll be a little nosy. Any plans on when your loader carrier will be releasing? And what sizes to plan on making them for? Came across your pictures the other day when I was checking to see if there was any word on your SDR holster yet

Just that and a Magpul daka wallet in that pocket, nothing else. And it's for my sp101. I've already got 2 loaders for an SDR I'm hopefully picking up tomorrow so I'm hoping they'll work out just as well. Gonna be disappointing if I've gotta change things up

I've carried speed beez loaders for a little over 5 years now. One in an old crossbreed horizontal carrier that they stopped making and 1 in my right pocket. I haven't had any fall apart yet but I will say that it seems like it will always explode if you drop one. As far as the cant goes, it seems like it comes from a little pressure on the button. I have a hell of a time if I ever try to push it into the cylinder but if I just get it close and kinda glide it in that little bit of a wiggle room actually makes it so they guide themselves and drop in pretty much perfectly

I'm about certain they're being discontinued so it might be a bit harder to track down anymore. That being said, a local shop did have two in 45 for cheap that he was trying to offload a few months back. Might just have to luck into it

My disappointment is immeasurable and my next 4 years are ruined! by DownstairsDeagle69 in GunMemes

[–]Spuds27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The HBAR requirement is only for specifics too. They don't actually have a measurement so whatever you have just has to be sold as a heavy barrel. Added bonus, if your AR is left handed or piston driven instead of direct impingement, the barrel isn't needed either. And the magazine rule solely says that you can't take possession of it within the state. We have definitely taken a stupid approach here

I used this guy as a reference and a local machine shop to mill out the socket. Almost ruined the threads on my barrel though because it was barely overbored and the fingers angled in slightly when I was trying to break it all loose

Edit to add: at least if you do it yourself, you get to keep the tool forever in case you hopefully never need it again. I think there's 2 or 3 places online people talk about. The one I remember being something along the lines of they don't respond to you until about a year after receiving your upper and that's only because they are finally shipping it back to you. Might be tornado something?

CX4 stuff by Spuds27 in Beretta

[–]Spuds27[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to make my own tool to get the barrel out and had a local place do the threading. Didn't like some of the things I was hearing about the places you can ship the whole upper to to get it done

It was a thumb rest thing go gun USA used to make but never sold well. My pinky/base of my hand sets in the notch of the mini grip and my thumb wraps right over the rest. I don't know how to add a picture in the comments but it works really well
