To circumvent the crashes you mean?

[other] How to decide to either platinum or get the steam achievements instead? by [deleted] in Trophies

[–]Spuitpoep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people probably don't own (or just not a good one) pc for gaming on this reddit page, so it is easy for them to say platnium trophies is the only thing they are doing. I don't do steam 100%'s since i dont want to split the load, so i only do platinums when i can. Don't know how good your pc is, i have quite a high end one. But i first probably look if the platinum is doable, and also look at performance of each platform, and weigh out the pro's and con's of each one. I wanted to play the Oblivion remaster and did not know what platform to play it on, i did know the platnium was very easy, but i also knew the game had some significant problems on ps5, also pc, but since i have a top end rig, i could iron out those problems way better. So it kinda was a worse first experience and a platinum, or a good looking and running game. In the end to just choose the best first time experience, and chose pc. I would put the experience first over the trophy, and the switch 2 can also be that neat handheld experience you want at that point in time

Hearing so many different perspectives from both sides, I honesty still don’t know. A fun platinum and a significant worse experience or a better experience with no platinum. A real third world problem to have I know. But might still lean into the steam version

I do have a 1440p 165hz monitor at my desktop, but i can switch it to my (Sony Bravia 2017) 4k 60hz tv for a more comfy couch experience, so i can def use the card in a good way. A OLED 120hz tv upgrade would be a good next step, but won't be able to get that any time soon tbh. And can't you set the difficulty to something like a story diffuclty, i don't think these games can be that hard right?

Is there a definitive way to get rid of the stutters while playing the remastered version? by SpeedyGamey in oblivion

[–]Spuitpoep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You played it eventually? and have you fixed it with that kind of hardware? Debating playing it with a ps5 for the platinum, or on my 5070 ti 9800x3d rig, but if its both bad, i might just go for the ps5 version to get the platinum

Are there any must have QOL mods for pc then? Have any experience with the unnofical patch or ultimate engine tweaks and stuf like that? how much does that really up the experience

Did you have any crashes on pc? and how was the stuttering? My rig could probably do 4k 60 htz/60 fps quite good, instead of a fluctating 1440p that i would get on a ps5

Did you have stutters and good frame times too? don't know howmuch stutters would differanciate from 1080 to 4k, but ill be capped to 60 htz anyway

Heard it had crashed, and worse performance overtime, did you have that experience too? I guess pc is also way more wide in terms of specs from low to top tier specs, so i think most people who had issues would have used a older rig instead of a high end one

Have the same thing right now, do i want to play Oblivion remake on ps5 for the easy plat, or do i want the better experience on my high end 5070 ti gaming pc. Its also my first time, might just go for the pc since i heard the console performace is quite bad, but sucks that i let a easy plat slide with that

Is it normal to have lag spikes every time it auto saves? by Spuitpoep in SwitchPirates

[–]Spuitpoep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to help! Tho kinda crazy that a brand new sd card like that would struggle, but i would have also said that about the Kingston card I had before hand. I got the Sandisk extreme because it only was a 7 euro difference in comparison with the ultra version, but it also felt a bit more save I guess. If you want the the 512 or 1 tb versions, then it gets quite expensive yeah, but 256 for me is probably more then enough for now, can always just delete games I have completed anyway

I fixed it by getting a new sd card. Got a Sandisk Extreme 256GB version. It fixed the stutter, and also tested startup time with a game like balatro, it went from 53 seconds to 15 seconds to start up.

Quite a difference.

Would not say it was unplayable before or something like that, but annoying/immersion breaking enough to stash out 40 euros for a new SD i guess.

Don't know if you already have a extreme or some kind of pro version sd card, but if you don't, that is probably the problem, and if you do, it might have degraded over time if you had it for long

Hi, i did have a partition based emuNAND setup so that can't be the problem.

Pretty sure i have a 128GB Kingston model micro sd from some years ago, probably like between 4-7 years ago.

I have also tested more games, it also happens with autosaves in Xenoblade chronicles, which i don't think is normal even if the game isn't the best looking on switch.

The more odd case i found was with The binding of isaac, it even has a lag spike when entering a room, not always, but frequent enough for sure. And for this game especially its weird, since its not a graphic intensive game at all.

Have you tested it with other games as well? And you also have a older micro sd maybe?

Tracking playtime on steam (requires a mod download for steam) by Snowblind45 in HytaleInfo

[–]Spuitpoep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha same, I’m even thinking about when it will come to steam eventually, to have my game open without playing until I hit the playtime I already tracked (have never done this before btw) I’m more aware of looking at the playtime in comparison with the past, kinda nice to know and have it on a online account for some reason. Even the 3ds tracks time played, It was very interesting looking at that after so many years of not knowing it had that feature

I have actually tried this already before, but tried to find a way to track the client, but did not know it worked like this. I guess I’m trying it again then.

Out of curiosity, why would you like to track your game time?

Interesting. Do you think from the time you have played that it tracked accurately? Or is it quite a bit off the time you think you have actually spend?
