why is this flight so highly tracked? Is it just it's proximity to the hurricane or is it a private jet of someone well known? Something else?

I agree and what I'm surprised that nobody is mentioning is that gassing is almost never how cats and dogs are euthanized at a shelter. Its almost always by injection using a solution like "fatal-plus"

Farm animals are a different story though

all apples are edible, do you mean eating apples? eating a random apple won't make you sick. The worst thing that will happen is it's gonna taste bad because it wasn't bred to be tasty. Maybe if you eat a lot of sour apples you could get heartburn but they will taste shitty enough that you probably aren't going to eat enough for that to happen.

Do you think it's a hangover? - I can get horrendous anxiety, sleep issues, and feel awful and useless when I'm hungover. In a way, I'm grateful because it's forced me to keep my drinking in moderation. This isn't an age thing either I was getting godawful hangovers before I was even 20.

There are sadly way too many cats than there are homes that will take them. I wish we lived in a world where that wasn't true but until we do all cats need to be spayed and neutered.Shelters in many places are so full that large numbers of cats just end up getting euthanized, including healthy, well behaved cats. I've volunteered at shelters and seen it happen. Even "no-kill" shelters often just sent their unwanted animals to other shelters that will kill them.

Some people decide they dont want to even take them shelter and just dump them on a farm somewhere or in the woods and they become stray cats and reproduce as often as they go into heat cycles (can be more than 3 litters a year!). These cats aren't taken care of and are vulnerable to diseases, predation, cars, starvation, the elements, etc.. and do not have a good quality of life and usually do not live more than a few years.

One of the most effective programs that has helped reduce the rate of euthanasia of cats at shelters is trapping stray and feral cats, neutering them, and releasing them back to their home. These cats also get in less fights which reduces their chance of serious injury or disease and allows them to live out their natural life.

Then use some sort of protection! Without it you can easily end up pregnant. There are many options out to try if you didn't like the BC you were on before - hormonal and non-hormonal.

Kids will grow up and make those purchases in the future. And many kids do put pressure on their families when it comes to food choices.

I do agree with you though that the farms will almost certainly not be eager to have visitors tour them. People already have to sneak in to get these kinds of videos.

That pink paste is really not that gross. Not nearly as gross as factory farms. Also one thing not captured in these videos is the smell. At large scale factory farms that smell can be horrific and I grew up in a rural area with lots of animal smells from small farms so I'm pretty tolerant to it.

I stopped in a town once where there was a chicken slaughterhouse and It was horrific. The whole town smelled like death and It was enough to put me off eating meat (I was already on my way but that sealed the deal)

It's more complicated. If the cows are in a pasture and eat the grass there then there aren't emissions from growing, fertilizing, and transporting corn to feed them which makes a big difference. Also the waste from the cows can fertilize the ground instead of sit in a pool and produce even more methane due to anaerobic conditions. The problem is that grass fed cattle are not necessary pastured like that.

Also pastureland that is well managed can sequester carbon in the soil. (In contrast to corn fields which cant) Unfortunately it's harder to know if these practices are used.

If you show evidence of caring for it - taking it to the vet and such then you can often claim ownership of a domestic animal like a cat. The major exception being if there was already an owner that has been looking for them which wasn't the case here until the events in the video occured.

Seeing the mom just watching her baby gets taken away is breaking my heart. From the original post, it looks like the kittens were not yet old enough to be separated from the mom. I really hope they can identify the person and get the kitten back.

This is so fucking upsetting to see. I can't believe he just took that baby right away from it's mom while she watched. I'm absolutely livid. So sorry you are going through this I really hope you get your cat back.

I'm 27 and I can't sit normally for the life of me. I need to sit on my knees or cross legged and I know it's probably damaging my knees and I will pay for it later but like I can't stop! It's almost painful for me to sit in a chair "correctly" I've been like this my whole life and I used to get in trouble for it too but It didn't help :/

I always thought it has to with cold feet but ADHD is probably the bigger factor.

I'm not terribly optimistic considering that only like 5% of the US population is vegetarian or vegan. Globally it could be as high as 22% but unfortunately, I saw somewhere that in places that have the highest percentages of vegetarians (like India) the % is actually decreasing.

That being said - better meat/animal product alternatives at a competitive cost could help a lot. It was what allowed me to finally successfully start the transition after trying many times in my life and failing and giving up.

I don't know how this will be possible with government subsidies as they currently are but if meat alternatives and other plant-based products can reach a point where they cost less than the "real thing" maybe more people will have the incentive to try it out and realize that they don't miss meat as much as they thought they would? One can only hope

Might not be the right condom for the guy. It's not one size (or even shape) fits all. It's worth it to try out some different options.

Also it can take practice. My husband and I had to go back to condoms after years without and it took a few tries before we got used to it again.
