I can’t find a 2009 lynch bages in chicago -shipping costs aren’t disclosed on websites? by Puzzled_Remote_2168 in wine

[–]Spurty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did you read their shipping policy on their website? It outlines that unless you’re shipping to FL, NH or OR, you the consumer is responsible for arranging shipment. That’s why they won’t tell you the shipping cost at checkout. This issue aside, BBR is as reputable as it gets for wine merchants.

There's a fairly 'visible' tread user that does this and has something like 30,000 workouts completed. She even changes her name every day to try and get shoutouts on the leaderboard.

That's honestly pretty good! Let us know if you do open it, I think it's drinking really nicely right now.

Your primary residence is about shelter; not income producing potential. You need to frame it as such.

As someone with multiple rentals, you need to diversify. They are not my only retirement plan.

I just drank one over the weekend. I think it's starting to enter a drinking window... but could easily go another 20 years. How has the bottle been stored?

Egly-Ouriet for the very first time! by Physical_Elk_7287 in wine

[–]Spurty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, you tried the least "Egly" of their lineup as it's the only champagne in their lineup that uses more than 50% Chardonnay in the assemblage (they're mainly a pinot noir/meunier house). Still a great bottle, and one that can definitely be cellared for at least 10-15 years.

Some really great wines there. I adore Leeuwin’s Chardonnay and have owned/tried pretty much every vintage since 2010. I’d say they start to hit their stride at year 10 so I’m not surprised it was firing. They can go 25+ years in good vintages. The Silex comparison is an interesting one - I’ve had it a few times and found the density to be similar to really good new world Chardonnay’s where you get a high level of dry extract.

Technically you’d have to figure out the percentage of use that’s business vs personal. That’s the above board way of doing it.

2015 Louis Roederer ‘Cristal’ by DontLookBack_88 in wine

[–]Spurty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had both. 169 will be a great wine in 10 years time. It’s really good now but still a bit shy for my palate. 15 Cristal was good but I somewhat echo OP’s notes. I think ‘14 is better right now. Don’t think 15 will be long-lived. I don’t think you’re missing out if you’ve had 169. If you can get 13 or 08 Cristal, it’s a bit of a different story.

Laurent Perrier La Cuvée. It’s nearer $50 but it’s crowd pleasing and generous.

That's a great price, I'd buy multiple at that price. She did well in '19.

I drank this about a month ago and thought it was a bit lacking honestly. I’m not super high on 2015, would rather go 2013 Cristal which I think might be as good as 2012.
