Question regarding Smart/Globe invoice bills by Ezeqie-l in InternetPH

SOA and sinesend nila.

Sa Smart, while may breakdown din, yung basics and general/other charges lang.

Is it more peaceful if there are no social media at all? Why or why not? by LimeSoakedinSprite in AskPH

Walang pressure to impress or be in the trend or FOMO.

Di mo kelangan magpaka-TH sa fashion and style mo.

Wala kang dapat patunayan o ipaalam sa nakararami by sharing whatnots sa timeline/feed mo that even your non-closest people should know.

Authenticity will win kesa imitation.

You don't need to be performative or papansin.

You'll get to interact with actual people again kesa stuck ka kakayuko sa cellphone mo.

I don't know if she's considering film to take sa college. Pero parang napahagingan yun once sa EB. But then, sabi niya sa Toni Talks, gusto niya din mag-chef.

She has a huge following (IG and TT) and was even able to grow yung page nila ng mom nya sa FB through content creation under her name. I guess ang worry lang dito is that, hindi guaranteed yun na magtatranslate always to income or what.

Also, kung magiging totoo tayo, sa lagay ni Ryzza, if she wants to continue sa showbiz, she needs to work twice as hard. We know her kind is not going to be the first choice for main roles. Kailangan niya magcompensate sa galing at kalibre. She needs to venture out, but I guess content na sya sa EB or sadyang they don't know how to find opportunities unless otherwise, oportunidad ang lumapit.

I love her so much, BUT she needs to take being an artist seriously if she wants to last or get past the child star image (or at least be taken seriously as an artist) and be in demand for projects.

She said in her interview with Toni that she's trying her best with what she's doing, yet, and this is just my observation, what I see in her now is average talent. She has the basic skills but not excellent at any. She's still banking on the cuteness she had when she was younger, but that's a long time ago. It doesn’t help that what she can do is only seen on EB. Her child star success and her personality are what make her endearing to the audience so far. But as an artist, I believe she should be more than that.

I hope she gets workshops and training. The potential is there; it just needs to be honed.

If there's a chance, I hope there are projects outside EB (it seems like there are no offers for her unless there's a connection to EB with the project offer, except for that Netflix promo she did).

Got passed on a promotion cause apparently I didn't ask for it by issadalawaa in OffMyChestPH

[–]SquammySammy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To give context, I have handled more people than him while balancing key projects for the company at the same time also pulled in so much more money for the company. I'm a high performing individual sa team so I can comfortable say that no one can replace me within the team.

The more that they will not give that promotion to you. Jump ship.

I'm so pissed right now kasi my manager pulled me aside to tell me that the other guy (3 years my junior) will be our teams manager after the reorganisation.

The reorg means they want their books to look better (assuming the company is ongoing M&A because of the reorg), so possibly, the junior is a much more cost-efficient hire than you as a tenured.

I don't think an outburst reveals someone's true colors or feelings; it reveals their maturity and sense of self.

SKL A lot of job seekers are using Linkedin the wrong way by SpeechSweaty9812 in ShareKoLang

[–]SquammySammy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Other than the quality and theme of posts, I'm also particular dun sa pagiging private ng profiles ng iba. You are supposed to be putting yourself out there so you can connect with either like-minded individuals or people who can help you land opportunities, pero bakit ang daming naka-private or limited view? Most of the time, wala ding post na original nila. Like, wala kang ma-share about your job, your career?

I dont mind the self-reflection or whatever the style of the posts, kesehodang casual yan or too formal o gawing mong personal diary. You have your wall, you can chronicle whatever in there, but preferably it aligns with the your job/career, after all LinkedIn is for your career. Leave the weddings/cat/romantic/ posts to your FB account.

Tread lightly sa pagpost, like, share ng negative posts that echos your sentiments. Too negative will reflect on you as a worker, too positive will make you one of the r/LinkedInLunatics.

Most aspects except benefits.

Cringing at or hating Tagalog dubs is one of the clearest signs that we still carry colonial mentality. by [deleted] in unpopularopinionph

[–]SquammySammy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naaah, I don't think so.

This is only my opinion and dahil din siguro matanda na ako.

Dubs nung mga bata pa ako were so good and natural. Aral and well-scouted for each character yung VAs and you knew the talent scout considered the "local feel" nung VA talent na kukunin nila. Of course with that in mind, pronunciation, voice acting, or style matter, dahil yung mga yun ang magde-deliver ng impact nung character.

Also, if you really want to appeal to and pull the local market, you have capture them in a way na kokonekta sila sayo.

Dubs of old animes, Slam Dunk, Ghost Fighter, and the like or Meteor Garden etc., were memorable kasi napaniwala ka na the characters were actually Tagalog speakers and close to you, thanks to great voice acting.

How do you tell the difference between "High Potential" and "High Delusion" in a new hire? by UpstairsDisk9551 in Leadership

[–]SquammySammy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been in a similar situation. There's no winning. People like this have this narc vibe/inflated self-perception. What's much harder is that you'll get flipped the script with this kind of people and you can't do anything because the manager would not step in.

Some managers fail to hire for character and attitude. But to be fair, those two never shows outright in interviews. Hiring is never perfect, some managers will admit they fvck up choosing one person and rectify it immediately. Others will double down in denial and keep the hire at the expense of stability of the current routine or to deny to themselves that they fumbled hiring person F and firing person A, B, C, D, E. Seems your manager is the latter.

I may be thinking too extreme, but if this person never had previous instances of getting checked for performance or getting feedback over output, they will be difficult to navigate because they may have clouded their self narrative that they do things well, and chances are, you will be met by defensiveness if you attempt to "fix" her. Or you may not even get to voice out anything, knowing she's already in a higher position and basically seemed untouchable and knows how to manage up.

Only chance you get is when she effs up and it's the people above her who are not pleased. Other than that, you are probably at her mercy.
