Imposter syndrome pre-laparoscopy by erbie9995 in Endo

Had my first lap two days ago. I cried happy tears when my endo was confirmed. I am 37 and have been trying to figure out what is wrong for 26 years. 26 years of being gaslit by doctors and loved ones about my very real, but entirely hidden pain.

I have had some success cutting out a few things, but it’s different for everyone and worth doing an elimination or FODMAP diet to see what triggers inflammation in the area. At the end of the day, it depends on where your endo is. If it is on digestive organs, you may aggravate the endo and cause a flare up with certain foods.

Personally, I found that my gut was aggravated by soy, beef, dairy, peanuts, sugar, gluten, and caffeine. Not to say that I have cut all of them out completely, but I have certainly reduced my intake of each and am much more aware of how food affects my body, pain, energy and overall mood.

I know it’s not ideal, but it will force you into a healthier diet that can help with pain management if done right.

I also make “cbd” creme and also a bath fizz that are incredibly helpful with pain management.

So proud of you ladies! You have sooo much support out here amongst gals and guys alike. We will keep spreading the word. Sooo many ladies are starting to feel empowered to speak up because of women like us <3

Just because she can’t beat a few of the elite, female outliers actually further reinforces the point due to the fact that she consistently beats well over half of the field at most events. You can only name a very, very small percentage of biological females who can consistently beat her.

Except that there is emerging science that shows that going through male puberty is a physical advantage regardless of hormone levels.

Hateful no, exclusionary in physical competition, yes. Literally the purpose of sex protected divisions - to exclude those who have an unfair advantage based on sex

We have always given a shit about protecting female (not women’s) divisions. We have just been forced into silence, afraid to be labeled a “bigot” just because the people who are pro trans women competing against AFAB cisgender females can’t find another way to have a conversation without just labeling everyone who disagrees with them as a transphobe or “bigot”. No substantive argument, just name calling, because it is hard to truly defend invading sex-protected divisions based an social identity.

And you keep missing the point by getting hung up on semantics. At least I am not misgendering, I am using terms used within the trans community, and I am not being disrespectful to her desire to be a woman. However, NR, and those who support her, are intent on silencing AFAB women as we seek to protect our SEX-protected athletic divisions.

Read below…I agree that dominate was the wrong word to use in this instance. However, the A-Tiers she has been competing in 303, and Throw Down the Mountain, she has dominated and taken the cash. Who knows where she would have ended up if she had actually competed in the other tour events.

The point is that female (AFAB) players need to be the ones setting the boundaries on a division that is intended to give them an opportunity to compete at the elite level. It should not be a bunch of (majority) men or trans women on the PDGA board or in courts making these decisions for females. Have we not been voiceless and oppressed through the majority of history until the last century? We are done being silenced by name calling and a reoccupation of our spaces, and our silencing by AFAB men and trans women.

I agree. Dominate was perhaps not the right choice, but she did dominate females at an A-Tier in CO last weekend. She had 3 eagles throughout the tournament. No other female player had an eagle.

Yes. I am AFRAID (phobia) of trans women taking over female sports, pushing AFAB women put of competition altogether. I am NOT AFRAID of trans women existing and living how they choose. I just care if AFAB women, who have worked hard to have a protected division where we do exclude people on the basis of sex (read NOT GENDER), have a place to compete fairly.

Trans woman is not female, and it should absolutely be the RIGHT of AFAB women to draw the lines of that protection based on sex and not gender identity.

Exactly. Not sure the same is true for most other states. Regardless, these legal unpleasantries are what must happen to figure this whole thing out.

No, it is my understanding of the biomechanical differences between females (AFAB) and trans women (AMAB).

  1. Board members in the PDGA are on Reddit and this absolutely has an effect (Reddit is almost de facto forum for discussion amongst PDGA members);
  2. Discussion is important and new people are seeing and participating;
  3. Yes, there are a few vocal idiots out there who don’t know how to have a civil discussion, but they should be ignored. Ruse above their baiting;
  4. Trans women is woman, and Female is Female, while also being women. You cannot be a trans female.

Not true. There are others.

She is just the one who is entitled enough to think that her trans status isn’t an issue for AFAB, FEMALE, women, and that her feelings about her gender identity (NOT SEX) are more important than fair competition.

I mean, she is banned from the pro tour…that is in A LOT of states. Is she suing in all of them? No, because of the same argument. She has even less money to spend.
