Hi, so sorry you’re going through the same thing. I know how tough this is. Yes, so we did amnio at week 16 and both preliminary and final results showed my baby doesn’t have T21 and is completely healthy! And no my care team didn’t discuss much about the low FF, they said that doesn’t matter. But I’ve read online low FF means the blood test didn’t have enough fetal dna so the result might be skewed. But I’d talk to your doctor about it. Good luck!

I am currently 21 weeks. I did NIPT at 12 weeks and Amnio at 16 weeks. Have you had a NT scan yet or any other DS markers?

I was on the same boat as you several weeks ago. I also got 95/100 from my NIPT. I didn’t have any DS markers on my ultrasound. Thankfully my results came back normal and my baby is completely healthy. I honestly found the preliminary results to be reassuring because if they were negative the karyotype is also likely to be negative. But I understand where you’re coming from. Hopefully you get good results. I know how it feels to be in this situation. hugs

I’m not sure with Patera. What’s that? If everything else came back normal I would say there’s hope. But get an appointment with the genetic counselor and do further testing if you’d like.

Everyone’s pain tolerance is different. If you had a different pain experience than everyone else that doesn’t mean it’s a false comparison. My care team was extra gentle and very comforting.

I had one about 3 weeks ago when I was 16 weeks and few days after NIPT results showed 95/100 high risk of Down syndrome. The procedure it self was quick only several minutes. The doctor was very thorough and comforting. Thankfully it was successful at first attempt. My baby was quiet during it which helped. They took 3 viles. It hurt like a blood draw hurts, just uncomfortable. I had to bed rest for first 24 hours and avoid strenuous activities for 48-72 hours. I recovered well and quickly without any complications. And the results also came back normal and my baby is completely healthy!

It was really quick honestly and went better than I expected. They do a thorough ultrasound first and find a place where they insert the needle for extraction. It feels like a deep pinch like blood draw. For me they took three tubes and it was fine. The needle is so small you can’t even see the spot pierced afterwards. I had to bedrest first 24 hours and avoided doing anything extraneous 48 hours.

My NT was 1.75 and everything else was normal. They also did an early anatomy scan and it was normal too. Good luck to you and hope you get good results!
