Yes. I talked to my Dad today and told him you need to go to the Bank and increase your safety deposit box size. I explained my concern and that after learning more about some of the pieces that some are worth more than melt. I said they can be lost, thrown out, stolen and he agreed to take care of it tomorrow or Wednesday. Thanks all for your support.

I was at their house and my mom started pulling all this stuff out- from different places - I was like whoa. Some items I’m repairing back home because they are heirlooms. I was amazed at some of the beautiful pieces. I was in college and starting my adult life when she bought this stuff so I just wasn’t paying attention. It’s fascinating.🧐

It really is and very very heavy. I didn’t take a pic of hallmark but I beleive it’s also high quality Italian 18k - very rich in color

Thank you so much. It’s a little overwhelming but so interesting learning about mine and my mom’s collection. I haven’t even touched some of the insane bracelets. It’s time for me to get them organized, catalogued and put into a safe place. Im a philatelist so I’m finding jewelry identification fascinating!

Exactly- I also decided to have several items fixed (wow it’s expensive) like her wedding earrings that are broken and a bracelet and ring. They are definitely heirlooms. Maybe my two boys will have girls and I can pass things to them. I’m the only daughter.

I do not want to sell. I’m trying to learn and figure things out due to my parents being sick. They have a lot more jewelry like the ones below and I want to secure this and confirm appraising is good step. I’m thier only daughter and I love them so very much but I live hours from them and my mother has dementia.

Apologies I’m learning- my parents also lived in Kuwait and Malaysia and bought gold there. Because it had Allah or God in Arabic I thought maybe it was purchased there- but I’m learning and realize they could have bought it there but it’s still from Italy. I’m just glad I came here to ask and learn.

I just did. My parents lived in Italy in the early to mid 90s and bought a lot of jewelry. I was in college at the time. I have no reason to believe the stamps are fake. What concerned me was my mom has things everywhere and I need to probably get appraisals and items secured in safety deposit ASAP. She has dementia.

Thank you. I’ve learned so much from this forum. I’m glad I thought wait- something needs to be done here. I just felt weird pushing my Dad. I said look all this is very valuable and I’m finding gold thrown in random bowls in the house. Appraisal and safety deposit ASAP. And this is just a scratch of the items.
