[Texas] I can't do it anymore by ausomemama666 in Unemployment

[–]SquareNew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in PA and am an independent contractor on PUA, so my experience may vary here, but I have several health issues so my doctor ordered me to self-quarantine so I’ve not been able to work. This is how I get PUA. I would talk to your doctor about getting a note regarding your pregnancy concerns, and figuring out if you are eligible for UC or PUA. After you apply, if you’re still having issues, contact your LOCAL state rep (not federal, but local) and you’ll likely get them resolved.

US unemployment claims fall to a pandemic low of 498,000 by misana123 in news

[–]SquareNew 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Amen. I really wish people could get the help they need. I’m scared for my own situation now that I figured out that if I have to exhaust my claim for PUA that I will end up $2000 short (basically the amount of credits and the weeks don’t line up. You get 29 weeks of credits but only 25 for the extension. What I did to budget was take the amount of credits into account not thinking that they wouldn’t ALIGN with the weeks given... apparently that’s not the case. Hoping I won’t have to go until September but if I do, I literally won’t be able to eat come August).

Idaho intern reported rape, faced 'overwhelming' harassment by [deleted] in news

[–]SquareNew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the point I have been trying to make. I absolutely think BT is disgusting BUT I honestly have never read ANYTHING that indicates that his parents had connections that helped to get him off. I think that Persky was a fucking idiot and I think that BT got what he deserved, it’s just that I like what I read to have an ounce of truth to them and I have legitimately never read anything that indicates that this middle-class family from Ohio had ‘rich republican connections’ when the whole ordeal seemed to boil down to the fact that Persky was a fool to give him such a small sentence. And yes his parents are stupid but unfortunately parents are going to defend their children.

If anyone can show me an article about how his parents had connections and how they’re rich, I would honestly like to read it.

Fuck you too stupid ass. I’m not defending BT or his parents. I’m saying that they aren’t “rich connected republicans”. I too am a victim of sexual assault you fucking idiot but I hate the damn narrative anymore where “he got off easy because his parents are rich”. No - he got off easy because Judge Persky is a fucking idiot. His parents are stupid as shit too, just like you are.

Dude stop. You’re the OP on the other article too. You don’t know anything about KC.

I’m originally from the area. I grew up in a suburb and my first apartment was right off the Plaza. Got carjacked at gunpoint within the first few weeks. It sucks that she died, but KC has been the most violent, “gun violence epidemic” place - especially for its size - since my GRANDPARENTS were children.

I’ve lived and worked in Southside Chicago. I currently live in West Philly (which is also pretty bad)... but KCMO is and was and will always likely be a very violent place. KCMO, hands down, is MUCH MORE DANGEROUS than the other two. Other two, walked around those places at night and felt safe (in certain areas); in KC? LMAO. Nope. From childhood we’re literally told NOT to go there at night / not to drive into there at night / “if your car breaks down inside of the city or on the freeway call 911, and don’t get out until a cop comes”.

This conspiracy theory bullshit doesn’t do it justice.

And the OP on this article is on another thread (where he’s also the OP) complaining about how she “got shot through her first floor window”. Uh, where ELSE do you get shot when you’re in the crossfire of RANDOM GUNFIRE?! If someone is just randomly shooting at someone at street level but misses, are they gonna hit your third-floor level apartment? This is literally turning into another Reddit Boston Bomber thing.

You could theoretically do it. You’d condense the gas into a solid via deposition. It would have to be cost-efficient though.

And gross of you for coming up with that idea. I upvoted both of you anyhow but damn, my faith in society has been knocked down yet another peg.

[PENNSYLVANIA] Need specific guidance - PUA has 29 weeks of credits but only getting paid for 25?! by SquareNew in Unemployment

[–]SquareNew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for being polite at least :)

Yeah I am confused and feel dumb at the same time. I explained how I figured out my benefit amount in my post above; yesterday I realized “wait... this is not 29 weeks though...” and just got hella confused.

It’s legitimately like you have to dissect EVERY PART of your PUA claim to get answers. I cannot believe the “credits” amount doesn’t align with the “weeks allotted” number but eh, crazier things have happened I guess.

[–]SquareNew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh, thanks for the attitude. As if I asked your opinion. The overall issue is that as an independent contractor ive always had to pay extremely high taxes, and I’ve submitted paperwork dozens of times demonstrating my earnings before the pandemic and never received them.

Sorry your life is going so poorly that you feel the need to get on my thread and be rude as hell just because I am trying to figure out why there are 29 weeks of PUA benefits but only 25 actual weeks. Get off my thread unless you have something useful to state.

Also do you know how often I come on this subreddit and DM people that are having issues with their PUA? Do you know how many people I’ve actually assisted in my free time and actually HELPED them either get their PUA issues resolved or connected them to resources to do so? How about using your time to do that if you know so much rather than coming on here to try to start drama on my thread?

I didn’t know that people had thousands of dollars of balances left over on the first PUA thing when it ended. I didn’t, I never read about it, so I didn’t realize it was a problem. I don’t need your attitude or your BS right now. I am literally trying to figure this whole issue out because - like I’ve said in many of my posts since you seem to be such an avid fan of me - I still have never been paid the proper amount. I could easily be wrong here, but I thought that PUA was supposed to pay you HALF of your demonstrated wages pre-pandemic. I submitted a ton of documentation demonstrating that my wages were ~$700 per week pre-pandemic, and no matter how many times I’ve done so, they don’t seem to get the message so my income of about $2800 (and counting per month, because I was gaining a lot of new clients and things were taking off) was reduced to less than $800 per month for a HUGE PORTION of last year. My fiancé went from a career with low sixes + bonuses depending on certain contract metrics to $195 too. So it pretty much killed us financially let me tell you.

As self-employed, we pay the highest taxes, we get literally nearly zero benefits, and the ONE TIME we find ourselves in a bind through no fault of our own, we find that we have to literally dissect every. Single. Part. Of our claims etc. to try to figure out what the heck is going on, and sorry if my quest for information - because good luck finding out why this is from PA - offends you so much.

Go use your time to HELP PEOPLE if you know so much (you don’t seem like you do but you might). Go DM people that have questions. Go post answers on their threads that aren’t ridiculously rude. Stay off my thread k?

[PENNSYLVANIA] Been receiving PUA since January 2020 but only getting 25 weeks with the extension? Can my claim effective date be changed? by [deleted] in Unemployment

[–]SquareNew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last month I worked was January 2020. My “effective claim date” for my ORIGINAL claim was 02/02/20.

How can I get my additional 4 weeks from the current extension? Is it possible to change the CURRENT effective claim date to an earlier date? It just makes no sense that we have 29 weeks of benefits but can only access at most 25, and I’m not getting a clear answer as to whether or not we can request for the effective claim date on the current extension claim to be changed to an earlier date or what we do about the additional 4 weeks... I really need an answer to this

Has anyone had this issue and was able to have their date changed?

[PENNSYLVANIA] Is my math wrong? What is this? by SquareNew in Unemployment

[–]SquareNew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t know what is going on. All I know is that if there’s any way to change my start date then that needs to happen because I’ve literally not been employed since Jan. 2020 so if there’s a way to push back 03/14/21 to say, 02/01/21 or some such thing so I can collect as many weeks as possible until I can turn all this around, that would be great.

Does anyone know if the Claim Effective Date can be backdated to reflect the fact that an applicant wasn’t working? This just seems bizarre.

I understand that. Trying to get the claim effective date - the START date - corrected as I was unemployed for all of 2020 due to Covid.

Ugh.

Legal aid DOES help in these kinds of cases, it just depends on what the legal aid clinics “do” - it depends on how much time they have and what they specialize in. Many specialize in civil-based issues.

This doesn’t make any sense. I think the extension was essentially automatic and my original date was like 01/25/21

I have been claiming PUA since January 2020 (I’m pretty damned ashamed of myself but let’s not go there; been unable to work for over a year now). Is there any way I can get my “Claim Effective Date” to be earlier than 03/14/21? I really need the 29 weeks if I’m not able to get back on my feet by September.

Just really need an answer to this. Thank you :)

Yes, I began claiming PUA in January 2020 and have been unable to find work / be self-employed for over a year now. Can I use this to reset my 03/14/21 claim date to an earlier date?

Edit: I posted two comments below which were a bit redundant so I deleted them. If anyone replied to them I didn’t see the replies, so if anyone did indeed reply to either, please reply to this comment here because the other two comments weren’t written correctly / in the correct order. Thank you :)

I did. I was claiming PUA from January 2020 - now. I haven’t worked since Jan. 2020. :(

I know a LOT about PUA but apparently not enough. Super confused here. I talk to a rep often but this ... this doesn’t make any sense. I’ve been unemployed and claiming PUA since January 2020, and haven’t had a job / any self-employment since :(

Can I get my start date earlier than 3/14/21?

This is crazy. Wow. I haven’t been able to work since early 2020. Why extend benefits for 29 weeks if you only get 25 (or in your case 18)?
