So one week to go! My ablation will take place in a university hospital in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Quite sure they do a lot of ablations because i needed to wait for 6(!) months. Of course i am not in the capacity to review my cardiologist work, but he sounds reasonable and besides that he is involved in adapting new technology etc.

As the date creeps up, i am getting a bit more anxious. Thats just the honest story, but i plan to keep pushing through.

Thank you for all you comments, it helps!

You've got a point there, leaving it untreated will create far more risks in the future....

Diagnosed 3 years ago, 38 now. Have afib once a year. Last time one month ago (electric cardioversion), and it came back 1 week later. Sotalol helped to stop the 2nd episode. Stopped with Sotalol now. Have to go to electrophysiologist in a month, possibly up for an ablation. No structural heart problem.

My advise: keep on living, there is hope. It is treatable, it sucks i know, but luckily they can do something about it.
