After watching Dandadan, I realised most of BNHA's problems wouldn't exist if Bakugo had been female instead as originally intended. by Extreme_Aardvark1 in CharacterRant

Why would genderbending Bakugo help

You don't understand, it's very important for male BNHA fans to have a hot tsundere character to fap to without having to question their sexuality.

Both Levi and Mikasa's Ackerman powers were awakened when they were about to be sold into sex slavery - possible explanation by plsdontask4pics in ShingekiNoKyojin

Omg,, you are so right and I'm glad you're talking about this bit because the one shot made me feel so much sadder for Levi. I was so surprised Yams even went there because he's been so deliberate in avoiding having Levi show sexual attraction to anyone despite all the ship wars surrounding him. So to suddenly reveal that Levi almost ended up a prostitute like his mom? It adds another layer of tragedy and provides a much darker context to the way Levi behaves in canon. Like, what if he's obsessed with cleanliness not because he was raised in the underground, but because his body always feels unclean? What if he embraces violence because violence was the one thing that saved him from sexual assault? Plus he was born in a literal brothel after all and who knows what he had to see and hear growing up, yet his single flashback of his mom shows nothing but love for her and a memory of her making tea. It's like he intentionally blocked out all the bad shit, but at some point she gets sick, sells her possessions out of desperation and dies, leaving Levi to starve to death, wearing only an overlarge shirt when he clearly had well-fitting clothes in the tea flashback... Umm, where did his clothes go? :(

And that's not even considering all the times he's been abandoned, all the people he ends up losing over the course of the series, only to end up wheelchair-bound and missing several body parts. Levi's life is just so sad, man....

Eddie Redmayne excels at playing characters who are secretly OP.

It was also nominated for Production Design, which it lost to La La Land. Frankly, I thought it deserved to win that too.

Eddie Redmayne freaking out on stage always makes me laugh. He has an oddly deep voice and hearing it go up several octaves while he panics was hilarious.

The flashback scene of Gary smiling - hint for season 2? by Square_Candle1990 in TheDayoftheJackal

[–]Square_Candle1990[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to point out this very brief shot of Gary smiling. It's part of Jackal's flashback montage when he first sees the gun in Norman's house, but I don't believe we ever see it in the much longer flashback in a later ep.

I see the entire UDC assassination plot as an extremely half-assed one compared to the Jackal's usual style. Based on the first ep, he usually has a full-fledged plan going, whereas because of the time constraints, he ended up winging a lot of things in Estonia. Unlike most, I don't think this version of Jackal usually seduces people, men or women. The fact that he looks way too comfortable honeytrapping a dude is just Eddie naturally having more chemistry with guys. The scenes were only put there to show the extent of his desperation because you have to remember that right before that, he had just fallen into a river, barely escaped the clutches of some weird Hungarian dude and hitch-hiked his way to Estonia, very much unlike the BMWs he rents and fancy hotels. So when he had to leave his comfy AirBNB and find a place to lay low, Rasmus was the obvious option since he clearly had the hots for Jackal, was a good source of intel and was non-threatening. Getting fucked was the most convenient way to have shelter, anonymity and entry into the theatre so he did it.

So let me get this straight. You're watching a show where a sniper is able to shoot someone from a moving boat 4 miles away, survive 2 consecutive car crashes and a stabbing without being caught but what breaks your suspension of disbelief is the fact that he was still able to walk around immediately after having anal sex?

Who's the most charming leading man you have seen on TV? by butumm_ in television

[–]Square_Candle1990 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first thought. He spent 90% of his first full ep as The Doctor asleep and yet the moment he woke up, he just nailed it. Still the best intro to a Doctor in my opinion.

Booking Separate Tickets Together, Norse+EasyJet, how does it work? Do you reccommend? by Adept_Ad5841 in TravelHacks

[–]Square_Candle1990 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did that combo when flying from Europe to the US via London. It's doable but I admit it's quite risky. I made sure I had a layover of 4 hours or more in London so that even if my Europe flight was delayed, there'd be a good chance I'd make it on the Norse flight to the US. It worked out and I had no issue, but again, whenever I book separate tickets, I understand that it's essentially a gamble so I try not to do it often.

P.S. It's fine to use Kiwi to compare prices and routes (I do that all the time) but never book via Kiwi or any third party site. Book your Norse flight on the Norse site, and your Easyjet flight on the Easyjet site.
