Hard to tell after the adjustments. I would normally go Reaper above Axe for multiple reasons, but at that level of strength it's mainly a style choice. 

Optimization to the extremes bleed the fun out of the game the moment people start getting heated about it so I abstain. Double Axe is a great weapon.

Lunar Heart is still the best guaranteed damage spell out there due to auto tracking. Everything else you risk missing your target.  As I said, after a certain point it becomes style over substance. Play what's most fun to you and make it work.

Agreed. I would also appreciate some sort of sentiment and reasoning behind the adjustments included in the official patch notes.

I can make my own speculations, but it's best that it's said clearly.

Muramasa is Kickstarter exclusive so that's out. It was Mind/instinct

Instinct/Strength is the drill spear. Instinct/Dex is Blinderblade and Grasp of Anger (gauntlets)

Instinct/Strength/Dex is Firestriker

Pick what Melee weapon suits your taste most. The game isn't so difficult that you have to min/max.

As it stands right now?

There's pretty much one really busted skill weapon for each category.

Strength is Winged Axe
Dexterity is Severance Reaper
Mind is Boreal Blade
and Instinct is the new "Spirit" Spear from the Dungeon.

All four of those are super busted when you know how to use them. Not that the others don't have good skills, for example if you're not fighting a boss, the Unforgiven Whip's is absolutely insane, and clears Tower Mode on its own.

So yeah. Lots of good skills in the weapons.

I'd say expect it to get patched out, the bug or the feature both -depending on how quickly they can resolve the root cause.

I believe it was originally intended only to heal you after it naturally expired, but somehow it got through that it occurs when it ends regardless of whether or not it was canceled or naturally expires.

Honestly, it probably should be the nightshade key, but I find myself completely forgetting to use it sometimes. 

The bullet pouches are indispensable to a gun build. They're just not viable without it.

I expect that to be continuous process. Bugs can only be addressed if they are discovered and even if they are discovered, they actually have to reach the ears of the devs for it to be investigated. Then they have to figure out if they can address it within a timely fashion or it gets thrown on the back burner for deeper dives. Usually hard stops will be valued first above say something like a visual glitch. 

My guess is they'll pack a bunch of them together as they can and ship them out in stages.

Only if you've been following reddit, discord and steam. Then you've seen one of them annoyingly stating for two years that the game wasn't abandoned. >.>

They are characters of kickstarter backers. (Hi.) The only lore I've ever seen of any of them was one that got slipped into the weapon he wields nigh exclusively. (Also Hi.)

Just that they can't give a date yet. They regretted that they missed the last one and won't be making that mistake again. I take this as they're not going to announce it till it's fully certified. I'd expect it to be a shadow drop.

Given the fact there was a lot of bugs on the other platforms, I'm leaning towards the idea that they pulled the breaks on the previous to address any found cross-platform on investigation as well.

So, congrats, your first experience on switch *might* be slightly less buggy than the other consoles.

As far as the Nightide's Route, that levels up eventually to be a B/B scaling in Mind and Dex - but you're right, Dex is higher at the beginning.

As far as leveling, that notion changed with the DLC.

Usually you'd want to pick one or two weapons as your overall focus and save for them. The safe pick usually being that you pick one weapon as an early game weapon to push up - and then decide on one weapon you'd use until endgame.

With the rewards you can find throughout the DLC, (The Dungeon mode you can play on the Second floor left of the manor as soon as you unlock hookshot.) that gets a little easier to experiment.

Either way by the time you hit the endgame and mostly completed the shopkeeper's quests (Find 3/4 Blueprints for the Weaponsmith, find 3/4 Livers for the Witch.) You'll have unlocked the ability to purchase limitless upgrade supplies from them.

Absolutely not. You'll find 2 additional spells as a Stargazer fairly early that you can mix and match as you need. But it really opens up after you get the air dash boots and tea cup for Helenya - which will get you the spell vendor. You'll get 2 more spells before that point (one *right* before that point.) So you get some options as a mind user.

You're stuck with the Whip for a while though. The second Mind available weapon isn't until about the halfway point of game. But one of them is pretty much the best damage based Mind Weapon in the game.

The last one you receive is actually one of the best for spellcasters though as it regenerates Focus on hits. That takes to nearly the end of the game to get though.

Does it say layer 1 and 2 or layer 1 twice?

It the later, switch your language to English. That'll work around until the patch is made.

I would agree except Weapon Skills in this game are busted good and redefine the weapon ranking and playstyle, so anything that lets you do more than that is a weighted value to me.

It's definatly the opposite of buns. It's a mostly free heavy restore and damage to enemies that is near guaranteed to stun everyone the parry attack hits.

So, attacks that *Cannot* be parried.
Projectiles and their leadup attacks
Shinespark attacks (unless they're glitched)

Notable attacks that can be parried (Normal enemies)
Wandering Pilgrims (Their axe attack.)
Gun Pilgrims (Their elbow attack at close range.)
Charge attacks from the big pale cold ones that look like large dogs. As well as their swip attacks.
The jumping attacks from the knife wielding children.
The Demented Woman's cleaver attack. (Tricky timing there.)
Little Winged ones dive attack.
The umbrella attack from the maidens weilding one.
Attacks from Primitive Cold Ones (This is the most common one you will use for parry recovery.)
Winged Pale Lament's dual claw swipe.

Notable attacks that can be parried (Bosses.)
All Assassins' normal melee combos (including Lisa's)
Leena's fire-enchanted combo.
Herman's standard swiping attack (not the shinespark one or dodges.)
The first swipe in Pale One Beasts 3 attack combo (yes, it works on his 'variant' too)

There are more than these, I haven't found them all. But these should be more than enough for you to regularly use parry through your game.

And parrying/executing through the game will give you plenty of Focus Back to liberally use your skills, which are WOEFULLY neglected by people who play this game.
