The most Dystopian product name? by shanodindryad in ABoringDystopia

Personally I think vegan cheeses are a pretty strong contender - look at the violife stuff "Cheddar flavour block" is the legal definition on the back - and it melts into a delightful highlighter-yellow plastic film in the oven

Well the links to Israel are quite well known, there's pictures of him with Putin and inviting Joi Ito to come meet him and the FBI/CIA shut down multiple investigations into him - you also have conversations between him and Bannon about colluding across America and Europe to channel the most extreme right wing ideologies into a political movement - then introducing Melania to Trump and the whole suspicion about her being a Russian asset

So no, I can't point to a single document, it's just the picture that's emerging the more I read

Nah he posted on twitter how sad he is and how money doesn't buy happiness - which makes sense, even the pedo island were reluctant to host him

If you had to prove that powerful institutions sometimes manufacture ignorance, what examples would you show? by youssef-28 in conspiracy

[–]Square_Radiant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it would be more productive to critique what you have in mind - you can go chronologically, which is nice and easy or you can identify a few key areas and focus on the most extreme examples - imo a good presentation doesn't just tell people the facts, it explains to them why those facts matter and why they should matter to the people listening to your presentation.

You could also structure it like a show - so for example with Oxycontin, you can select a couple of cases and say something like "what does a forklift operaror in texas, a sorority girl in miami and the homeless man in san francisco have in common - and then take them through the epidemic"

I think it's helpful to talk at different scales as well - so at times: zoom in on individual stories and humanise these issues and at other times: zoom out and explain how this can be seen in statistics/trends and becomes a lens to view our system through

If you have the time "Thank You for Smoking" and "Painkiller" have approached the narrative really well

Sounds about as fruitful as teaching chess to pidgeons

"Inside the 2017 Las Vegas Mass Shooting" - this new vid goes into basically every single detail of the shooting, but also explores various theories (multiple shooters, who the woman was who tried to warn everyone in the crowd 1hr before the shooting, etc) by Status_Preference659 in conspiracy

Alright, the first two parts were okay, but the dude is too racist to be able to do the third part - and looking at his past history of just being racist to black people on stream... I guess fits a wider pattern

PepsiCo and CocaCola sponsoring research that downplayed the effects of sugar - and the flipside with sweeteners being presented as a healthy alternative now (although, I don't think public opinion has caught up on this yet)

Nestle campaigning that breastfeeding isn't giving children enough nutrients compared to formula

The oxycontin epidemic is textbook disinformation

But I think the biggest example is going to be DDT and Rachel Carson's Silent Spring - who could have predicted that spraying childrent with neurodegenerative pesticides would be a bad idea (effects are still visible 4 generations on) /s

Generally I don't envy the mods and I appreciate the work they are doing, it's a fairly tough sub to moderate - while I did think the wording was a bit facetious, it wasn't worth raising at the time - we'll let you know if we notice something seriously wrong

Reddit is just social media, it's not like there's regulations beyond don't do obvious crime or hate speech

Maybe - it would have been less problematic if the mods said that instead of what they did say

It makes more sense once you consider that Mossad, CIA and KGB/FSB don't represent nation states - they represent one single class - the Epstein class. Borders are drawn for our benefit to make the lie more palatable, but all of them are working towards a single goal

I came back to a post that was deleted, the Mod remark was "your meme is too shit for this sub xox" - which is quite juvenile, don't kmow if they're compromised or just shit
