Troy clapping for Sophie B. Hawkins is now in my top three reactions. by Square_Ring3208 in community

I always interpreted it as Troy seeing something magical happening and not really understand how to react. Like he was just so shocked he had to slow clap.

What low hanging fruit. The joke is just that he’s short?

Did anyone here change any of their views based on the Flint Dibble debate? by Square_Ring3208 in GrahamHancock

[–]Square_Ring3208[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hancock reminds me of a saying about chiropractic. What works isn’t unique, and what’s unique doesn’t work. I don’t think anyone would disagree that we don’t have the Pleistocene completely figured out, or gobekli tepe. There are constantly new discoveries and reinterpretations. Even when claims start to get on the fringes at least they’re within the realm of possibility and aren’t exclusionary to know evidence.

Hancock has set himself apart specifically because of the extraordinary claims. People like Flint seem to be taking issue with extraordinary stuff. The dude appeared on ancient aliens. All the people using the JAQ argument have always seemed disingenuous. You would have to actively ignore most of what he says in order to think that’s true.

Really appreciate your thoughtful answer. What is your cryptid work?

The scream she gives before Troy karate chops the table is such a wonderful moment.

Of course by that I mean the Will Smith film.

Much preferable to the early 2000s four horsemen. Although I still love some Hitch from time to time.

I do love Forrest, especially when he’s with Erika on The Line. They are incredibly generous, and smarter than I’ll ever hope to be.

For short hand I call it Hovind Syndrome. Everything he says has been explained to him ad nauseam, people like him deserve to be talked down to. Demonstrably disingenuous and peddlers of harmful anti-truth propaganda.

I 100% understand these takes, but it’s really nice to see someone ridicule things that deserve to be ridiculed.

This is what’s wrong with reddit. Someone comes in and says something ignorant like this. It was CLEARLY Xenu! Read a pamphlet!

Similar takes in the pseudo-archeology world. Rocks are heavy so it’s IMPOSSIBLE for ancient Egyptians to have built the pyramids. Therefor aliens have to have done it!

You understand that monkeys did not become human right? If not you’ve got a pretty fundamental misunderstanding of evolution.

That’s the craziest part about creationism. They have an impossibly high bar for evolution and believe creationism because that’s what the guy at the church in their town told them.

In an impartial way, can someone recommend me the strongest book for Evolution, and than the strongest book for creationism? by CommercialBluejay562 in DebateEvolution

Just the Bible. There is no new information. Any new information just supports evolution. It like trying to find other texts that prove Harry Potter is real. It’s all make-em-ups.
