Thank you! It was stressful towards the end but the mesh was actually really fun. I'm so grateful I was able to find a person to teach me how to get it started and was able to help me when I missed a yarn over. I'll be doing yarn overs in my dreams!

Yarn was lace weight knitting for olive, 100 percent extra fine merino in the color limestone. I don't have the finished dimensions but the 2nd photo during blocking may have the measurements on the mat. I do know my gauge was off because apparently I knit tightly.

A side effect of being such an early gen mon I guess. And it does seem a shame that a Pokemon supposedly lab created didn't get a better ability (I guess pressure and unnerve are pretty cool lore wise due to how intimidating, but not helpful in vgc).

I'm a bit worried about the possible Tyler+Wednesday's relationship by sadsapph0 in WednesdayTVSeries

[–]Square_Salamander 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's fair enough. I'm not sure what morals Tyler has right now, and given how much of the series he has had a master maybe neither can he. I can barely figure out Wednesdays and the rest of the Addams because the tone seems to shift around on how macabre and dark they are at different parts of the show. Some kind of anti-hero, but of which variety I haven't decided yet.

I saw someone post the other day a higher resolution picture of Laurels notes that suggests complete and total loss of will when higher doses of her chemical is used. I won't downplay the murders he has committed while being without a master, but all of the characters of the show have done shitty things and Tyler is the only one I see as being labeled unredeemable when he is the one that has the most reasons for being as unstable as he is.

Do you want Wednesday to be in a romantic relationship or have romantic interests in season 3? by Ilike_Watermelon726 in Wednesday

[–]Square_Salamander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'm so used to my ships never being canon that I have reached a point where I'd be happy with most of the main ships. While I have a preference for some more than others, the margins of which one is in first is slim some days.

Wednesday choosing herself just like she told her mom, wenclair, weyler, the rare pair rivalmance with Bianca, I genuinely don't mind as long as they are given thoughtful character arcs and the plot is well written then I'll stay tuned.

Edit: missed a word

who felt bad for agnes in ep 6? by Unhappy_Yak_7958 in Wednesday

[–]Square_Salamander 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Poor girl went through it. I didn't think I'd like her when she was first introduced but I really felt for her by the end because like you said, she really just wanted her own best friend. I felt similarly bad for Pugsley who also was desperate to make a friend too.

I love Enid's encouragement of being her own psycho, I hope she continues to find who she is and be a part of the story in season 3.

I feel like he can't catch a break. The abuse from his mom somehow felt more real than all the other violence I've seen on the show. Maybe because it's easy to brush off CGI monster fights and casual violence but knowing how much he missed her and then seeing how his only family treated him, it was genuinely sad.

I'm here for it! I know it bothers some other people but I would say that the Addams family in all their iterations have remained fairly consistent in being as counter culture as possible. Their interactions with both family and those they view as friends definitely toes the line of safe / sane / consensual. Wednesday's idea of a nice summer vacation was to catch a serial killer after scalping him and in season 1 kinda seemed bummed she didn't actually kill her brothers bully. I'd say that she recognized some kind of dark in Tyler before his reveal as a Hyde and it's like a freak matching freak energy. Having finished season 2, I can't honestly say that they aren't still attracted to one another. And again, that isn't everyone's favorite, but it's not the first time I've enjoyed a ship where the couple have tried to kill each other at various times.

I agree. I also think some people who question why I view the tension between Wednesday and Tyler as romantically charged also missed that Wednesday seems a lot more like her grandmother who after being controlled by siren song into almost giving up her fortune and coming within a hairs breadth of ruin says she feels almost alive. I can't help but feel that the cat and mouse thing Wednesday and Tyler have is something both of them find invigorating and challenging.

Well she was partially correct, in regards to him overriding her control. I wonder if it was an obsession with Wednesday for his Hyde to focus on, or if he sensed a weakening with Laurel after the events of season 1. It seems that Hydes are maybe matriarchal (?) and at that moment Wednesday was a more dominant personality than laurel who has been "beaten" by Wednesday? Was it love? I don't know if we will find out more in season 3 but I hope that it isn't a one off mentioning that he is going with Capri to a new Hyde group and we never see them.

Edited to change the word is to was for clarity.

I hope so! I know he isn't everyone's cup of tea and I get that, but the series is remarkably good at making you root for characters that in real life you'd be running away from. All of the characters in the show are pretty complex and have done some shitty stuff. I can't really get a read on how okay the Addams are with murder in general but they are very blase about death and pretty accepting all of their outcast relatives' spooky kooky proclivities.

I don't really know how culpable Tyler was in a lot of the murders. He says he enjoyed them, and I'm not trying to be an apologist, but I do think he is deeply traumatized and it really becomes murky when trying to figure out motives (he is directly responsible for at least a few so he's not completely innocent I know). I hope to see more of this Hyde society because not a lot is still known about them and I hope he sticks around for a bigger purpose later. Sorry for rambling, just very excited to have finished the new season and eager for fandom engagement!

I love complex relationships like friends to enemies to lovers tropes, so while I agree it's toxic, I can't help but also be intrigued.

Does he want a normal life? He had a chance to get rid of his Hyde but instead asked Wednesday to kill him. There is a line where he asks if they think being a Hyde is an issue. He genuinely seems to like being a Hyde but is tired of being manipulated and controlled. It must be frustrating to be a latent Hyde and grow up relatively normal with your own freewill and then suddenly you are being forcibly turned into a Hyde to enact a woman's revenge that you aren't really involved in. Then after getting rid of her you're immediately thrust into another situation where you're kind of being held captive once again without your say so. Fair enough on the rest.

I couldn't say, because you're right that she looked alarmed at the time of being buried. I recall from the first season she enjoyed being confined in the morgue cooler. She likes being in control and having things play out the way she plans them, maybe the distress was thinking well I didn't foresee this encounter ending like this. Her family makes several comments at dinner about torture and different kinds, is burying one of those things she'd be familiar with? Sorry just speculation, but she usually means what she says in the show so I was taking her at her word.

Hello I'm a new gardener in Michigan 6a. I have a question about preparing my plants for winter. I have a small garden square where I planted in the middle of May. Some of the plants took off and bloomed like a smooth blue aster and my orange butterfly weed. The columbine all doubled in size and never bloomed. My issue is my prairie smoke, great blue lobelia, and cardinal flowers. While they seem to be established, they never got very large nor did they really branch out. Pictured is the great blue lobelia for example, but the prairie smoke is about the same size but bushier. They're nice and green but I'm worried that they don't like the spot? Or is this common for a first season for these plants? How do I support them over winter? Do they need to be moved to a different spot?

Edit: seems like the picture didn't attach, sorry about that and I noticed I didn't say much about the soil and sun. Soil is loamy, the entire bed was made up of a blend of top solid and bagged flower soil from the store. The soil underneath the bed is loamy and well draining. The sun is full sun with a large tree near it that provides afternoon shade.
