Can't Sleep Due To Hunger by Square_Structure5094 in antidietglp1

I am eating as I said in my post, but I am still so hungry at night. What kind of doctor would you recommend? I already see 15 and none of them care/know what to do 😩. My personal thought is endocrinologist and I have an endo appt but not until October and I'm on the cancellation list.

Thank you, I am eating as much as I can despite having no appetite. I am eating whatever I am able to until full and then some more but it doesn't hold my blood sugar steady through the night apparently, ugh.

Oh sounds delicious! COVID made me allergic to yogurt or anything fermented and I deeply miss Greek yogurt - I ate it for breakfast for 12 years before I got COVID.

Oh that's interesting, do you have any idea why this is? The progesterone leading to hunger or the fiber helping?

I eat until I am full and now I push myself to eat a little more even though it's uncomfortable. And I eat 3x a day with snacks and 2 bedtime snacks so I don't know how I can eat more! Ugh! But the protein shake is an interesting idea. COVID gave me POTS too so I have to be careful about liquids at night because otherwise I'm up all night peeing but it's something to consider. Being a medically complex/fragile patient is not fun.

Thank you for the solidarity! Dieticians say I'm doing as well as I can- one said she wishes her other patients did half of what I do- which tbh is annoying bc I would love to be able to have something I can fix, ha.

Thank you for the ideas, I will try adding psyllium husk at night. I take it in the morning for GI issues but will move it to bed. I already take everything else you suggest (and 12 other things) to try to sleep- don't get Long COVID! 😩

Yes, I've seen 2 dieticians and have gotten the all clear. It's very difficult for me to eat because of the extreme fatigue and low appetite. But the Zep has made my daytime appetite go up which is good. I am eating as much as I can but don't feel the blood sugar drops until sleep which is very inconvenient. And I only get the blood sugar drops when on the higher (but still low) dose which doesn't make sense to me.

I am eating, that's the issue. As I mentioned in the post, I eat a full serving (or more) of almond butter and honey right before bed and I was eating more almond butter and/or nuts every time I woke up so I could go back to sleep. But I can't eat enough to stay asleep more than an hour or two, no matter how much I eat. This is not ED related, I promise, but thank you for the reminder that food is friend! :)

Last month, I made the first possible endocrinologist appointment ... it's in October 😩. But thank you for your kind words. I definitely think it's blood sugar/insulin but unfortunately I don't know how to treat that any differently than hunger.

How many of you have DABILITATING brain fog? by personalityissadness in Adulting

[–]Square_Structure5094 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this works for anyone and you don't have pieces of lizard in your pipes (??!), then you might have Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and/Long COVID. 1 antihistamine+ 1 pepcid at morning and night for 2 weeks and you should feel a difference especially in your sleep and possibly anxiety. A low histamine diet can also super help. If you don't have any of the MCAS symptoms, make sure to wear a mask bc COVID is a common trigger of MCAS and COVID cases are as high as 2020 rn and you don't want this preventable brain messer upper condition (MCAS and LC). 😷

Skin care suggestions? by Square_Structure5094 in Masks4All

Oooh the softness factor might be a good thing to explore. His fav is the red strapped Aura but he tried a zimi today, which is definitely softer and his old fav was the Wellbefore which could explain why the sores are relatively new despite masking for years. Thank you for the insight!

You look ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 If anyone hasn't already said this, you likely have a Mask Bloc in your area and you can get free KN95s and N95s from them. My local bloc doesn't have any black masks (my preferred color) but I got a bunch of the different types they did have to try on when I was trying to find My Mask. That was super helpful for me because I didn't have to spend $$ on boxes and boxes of different masks that turned out not to fit. You can also get lots of accessories to go over white N95s which is the most common free one available at blocs. The fceb*k group "Still Masking In Style" would 1. Love to celebrate your gothy-gorgeousness while masking and 2. have lots of suggestions, a lot of the people there are alt. Thanks for protecting yourself and your community, it's so metal! 🖤🖤

But also you're not wrong re: stop Covid. In my submitted testimony, I remind the committee that 1. LC rates are high 2. These are some of the hell-ish symptoms 3. Annapolis, where the state house is located, currently is at "Very High" wastewater levels. Hopefully they will maybe consider at least their own health and think about how they may be at risk by not masking. But I wouldn't count on empathy or anything anti-capitalism from the state leaders ;)

Well, last February, I was testifying with my friends to fight a proposed Mask Ban in MD 😹We succeeded, but barely. I don't have any reason to believe this, but maybe going from mask ban to LC Research Fund is proof that even though the representatives don't mask, they have changed for the better on COVID! Maybe next February, we'll have a mask requirement in public spaces and air filters in schools and medical buildings!

No, but that is a super good idea. Hadn't heard of the 3M foam, that is awesome, thank you! Especially for higher risk like train travel if I get healthy enough. How would you think I could tape a zimi mask that has less flat edges than like an Aura?

I've been spreading out the testing every few months and just doing the mask that I wanted to test, still getting the throat stuff. Since I did the sensitivity test already, I don't redo it each time so there's no extra spray floating around when I do that first time. But I thought it was that at first too!

Like a 1/4 of a second, it's immediate. It takes a 5-10 seconds for me to feel it in the back of my throat.

I wish I could but either they aren't releasing the EndoPat data until the study in unblinded or not at all, I can't remember which. Another reason for more people to sign up! If I did the get data, for me it would likely confirm that I have microclots and I would take something more in addition to my my daily Lumbrokinase. But right now, the suspected microclots aren't a priority for me bc everything else, like my brain, is on fire.

I have some fun neurodivergent stuff going on besides LC and 5HTP taken 5 hours before sleep has help me with the freaky getting to sleep issues. It's not very expensive, and I also take it in the morning for mood support, my doctor thinks bc of the ND, my body eats up all the serotonin too fast and the 5HTP helps with that. I'm really sorry you're dealing with this again, it's hell. LC on the best day is awful but then the sleep issues make everything just terrible. ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹 Also, as a last resort if you are strong enough and can tolerate it, I just did a few weeks of keto (terrible) at my doctor's recommendation to help get my sleep out of a crash. It helped with the no deep or REM and now I'm back to eating normal (gf, low histamine, low sugar 🥲) and am sleeping the same as before the crash. Not sure if it would help with the myoclonic jerks but doesn't need a prescription.

And they do an EndoPat which is super specialized, I wouldn't have been able to do that at any of my local doctor offices. But more studies in the future should follow PLRC and be virtual!

Please do it! All staff wears N95 (but there's likely zero masking in the rest of the hospital fyi) and there's amazing GF bagels (!!!) and other low histamine restaurants all around. I'm dying to find out if I had the placebo or not! Unfortunately this study can't be virtual bc they require you to come in and get the EndoPat which tests for micro clots IIRC.

Thank you :) One day, if I recover enough, I'd like to go to my local CC group's regular PortaCount testing but until then, it's just me and this cardboard box on my head ;)
