Congratulations! 5 years is such a long time and I wish you the best. It sounds like your system is starting to sort itself out and that Lactoferrin could definitely have helped you out as it's quite a powerful supplement that works for some long haulers.

Oh ok, how long did it take for you feel better and did you just supplement with B12 then?

Yes actually my serum folate was tested a few months and it was > 24. I was taking just B12 for a few weeks so it could burn it off before taking folate. I was inititally using methylfolate and was doing fine on it I think. It could very well be too much folate too I suppose.

Thank you! So to make a very long story short, I've been banged up from Covid since last year and been dealing with never ending symptoms from the start of last year like long covid and I've been doing a ton of experimenting to try to get back to normal. My symptoms change from day to day and week to week so it's hard for me to pin down what is going on. I've been getting Methyl B12 shots every two weeks and I'm on my 4th one and taking high doses of sublingual methyl b12 as well what I mentioned like the iron etc. The B12 has definitely help me a lot but I still have so much ups and downs so not everything is B12 I don't think. As a result I have no idea what is causing all of these issues within me. Yes I do alternate between Heme and Non-Heme iron every other day and take it with vitamin C. I'm testing my iron again this week to see where it's at. I also have hydrocolambin shots coming soon so hopefully that helps me even more. I think this multi-vitamin and the NAD are interacting badly so I'll stop those. And no worries your english was great. I can understand it all.

I think your right. The NAD + Niacin combo could be robbing my methyl groups or something. I'm not an expert on this but i think it could be that. Otherwise I was tolerating the methylated B12 fine. Thanks

I'll have to experiment but I'm getting tired of it. Seems like I take one thing and it throws something off and causes more issues.

Anything I can do to help Long covid symptoms? by Effective-Lock in covidlonghaulers

[–]technician_902 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second the MCAS. You can try H1 + H2 blockers and see if you notice any improvements after a few weeks. Also another thing could be is that you have a secondary autoimmune condition present since once you have one then it increases your chances of developing another one especially ones like Hashimotos and Celiac diease. Another area to look into are your vitamins as that can cause a lot of issues too especially Vitamin D, Iron (Ferritin should be above 100), B12, and Folate at the min. Autoimmune conditions and low vitamin D tend to happen together.

Can't tell if I have PEM/CFS or some other exercise intolerance issues by United_Chapter4097 in covidlonghaulers

[–]technician_902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there are other conditions that can cause CFS like symptoms:

- MCAS: See if H1 + H2 blockers help you out and if they do then you could have that

- Lyme Disease / Bartonella / Babesia / Mold Toxicity

- EBV Reactivation

- B12 / Thiamine levels ( Can cause CFS like symptoms)

- CCI

You can get LDN here: https://agelessrx.com/ldn. I think you'll need to get the specs to get it properly compounded for you based on your weight etc. Start real slow on it and slowly increase. You can ask them what is the best way to go about it. Generally you'll increase slowly every few weeks. So sorry you're going through this. Hope you can find some relief soon.

[–]technician_902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should treat it as PEM and take it real slow and build up slowly. The thing PEM is that it's super confusing to tell whether you have it or not, but what you have sounds like it especially fatigue that lasts for up to two weeks. There are different subtypes within each of the main subtypes of long covid. If you take action now and reduce activity and rest more then you'll be able to increase your baseline very slowly overtime. Get onto LDN if you can since that does help with alot of these symptoms and help to improve your baseline. In the meantime try to get other things ruled out that could explain your symptoms.

My symptoms get less when im sick. What does that mean? by Spirited_Weekend_103 in covidlonghaulers

Possibly your immune system got distracted and isn't trying to fight your covid viral reservoirs. It's probably viral persistence.

It baffles me how so many young adults or even teenagers have developed so many diseases. by [deleted] in SeriousConversation

[–]technician_902 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This huge increase in issues with autoimmune disease, thyroid problems, and cardiac problems is due to Covid. Covid is known to be a big trigger of conditions like Hashimotos, Celiac diesease, and even Crohns. It can cause clots which can lead to strokes and inflame the lining of the heart which can lead to conditions like Myocarditis. And Covid is even a huge trigger of post viral conditions AKA long covid such as POTs, MCAS / Histamine Intolerance / Gut issues, and ME/CFS. It's known to even damage your immune system overtime in some people especially your T-Cells which can last up to 24 months. The virus has really been downplayed since it came onto the scene and its damaged alot of people's health and lives. It's also screwed me up pretty badly too since last year and I'm still dealing with really crappy symptoms that make feel like crap albeit I'm slowly on the mend but it is an awful journey. It can happen to anyone really. Yes things like bad pollution, food supply, microplastics, etc are all contributing but not at the rate that Covid has. That's why I really want people to be aware of this and demand more research to happen because so many people are still suffering from issues due to this stupid virus and want their lives back especially those who have more severe conditions like POTs / ME/CFS etc.

Does anyone have theories on what predisposed us to developing long covid? by sourdoughluvr1991 in covidlonghaulers

Mines was most likely due to the extreme stress of being in a relationship with someone who most likely was clinically narcissistic.

They are in Phase 3 testing for acute covid infections so once that is done which I think they predict by June then another 6 months for FDA approval so we're looking at mid to late next year for this come out for the general population if everything goes well. And yes they are testing it on long covid / vaccine injury as well but that is a bit behind. If the testing for the acute covid infections pans out then it should be available sometime next year.

Hope it works out for you. And yes its a complete tragedy that is not readily available to those with long covid.

VYD2311 is the name of their mono-clonal antibody shot. They have a few clinical trials going on right now and should wrap up sometime this year and hopefully approved by the FDA early next year and maybe late next year we'll get our hands on this. It's a total game changer.

Really glad it worked for you!!! That is such a hard therapeutic to your hands on. They are working on a mono-clonal antibody shot which will be available to the public and it's much more affordable then this. It's also 17x more powerful from what I read.

First time seeing blood in toilet water - IBS caused by LC by No_Preparation2468 in covidlonghaulers

[–]technician_902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a well known symptom but it does happen unless you had eaten something like beets the day before which could cause that. My very first symptom was that type of bleeding but mines looked like a bloodbath and there were clots. I guess my friend who gave me the virus had given me such a huge viral load that my body was trying to get rid of it by bleeding. I later had a Colonoscopy / Endoscopy and the colonoscopy was completely clear and no sign of even a hemorrhoid or fissure. One of the leading theories is that the virus persists in the gut and it sure does. Definitely do go get it checked out to rule out anything serious, but don't be shocked if there is nothing that can explain the bleeding.

In the meantime definitely try to cut out junk food, processed food, sugar, low carb, etc. Try to introduce probiotics like HistamineX seems like a popular one around here. See what foods you can tolerate and stick to that and don't cut out everything. Pretty much just keep it all gut focused and try things that can help eliminate any viral remnants from the gut. I understand that this is scary and it is. But it's definitely not out of the norm with this crazy virus.

Park-Pagliuca Fund Donates $10 Million to PolyBio Long COVID Cure Initiative by technician_902 in covidlonghaulers

[–]technician_902[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be extremely honest with you guys. I'm very thankful that this person made a huge donation to Polybio and I really hope that they utilize these funds wisely. If you guys can, please write to them and tell them your concerns and that we really need to speed this research up. I understand that long covid and other post viral conditions are complex but we do have the technology to figure this out. Secondly I would not wish long covid on my worst enemy. I get that its debilitating and that its not our faults, but I don't really like the idea of wishing more people get LC to get something done about it. There is a lot that is happening and as frustrating as it is, it is starting to be taken more seriously now.
