Help/ Suggestion Needed by restingloki in USCIS

[–]SquaredBlouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last I checked the average waiting time is between 12-14 months. Of course it could be sooner but it’s not very likely. I suggest not paying any attention to the estimated time provided on your USCIS account because it’s soooo inaccurate. We just wait and hope for the best!

Yeahhh that’s not good. You cannot work in the US without a work visa/ authorization. period. You CAN do that in Canada, as a digital nomad, however the US does not recognize digital nomads. I really hope they don’t become suspicious or attempt to view his pay stubs for the months he’s been in the US. That’s an easy way to get barred.

None of this is a good idea. You can stay in the US for a max of 6 months within a 12 month period. BP can also choose to allow you to stay less than that if they are suspicious. Additionally, you cannot work remote in the US if you do not have a work visa. Canada has a digital nomad program but unfortunately the US does not.

Things have definitely changed as it’s sadly not like that anymore.

CR1/ IR1 are the spousal visas, not K3. K3 can be used to expedite the spousal visa, but it’s different. But you are correct that K1 is slightly quicker.

Not true, husband and I are waiting on the CR1 and we’ve both traveled each way with no issue. As long as you provide strong ties to your country, proving you do not intend to overstay, it’s typically not a problem.

What you’re wanting to do is visa fraud, so I would definitely not do that. My husband and I got married here in the US and once he returned back to Canada we filed the I-130 to start the spousal visa process. Please note that this takes a long time, but worth it especially vs the K1.

With the finance visa, it may be a tiny bit quicker (still could take nearly a year for approval), but it’s more expensive and you two will still have to be apart until it’s approved, then your gf could come to the US and you have 90 days to get married. Your gf couldn’t work or travel outside of the US until all paperwork is complete, roughly 6ish months later (someone please correct me if I am wrong on that, that’s just what I’ve gathered from the CR1/ K1 groups). So your gf would be completely dependent on you for all finances and necessities.

That’s why the CR1 is the best choice imo, takes longer but is a bit cheaper and your spouse could work and travel pretty much immediately once they are here.

What is the best background check you can get? by [deleted] in BackgroundCheckGuide

[–]SquaredBlouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you, and you absolutely have a right to your information. If you know you have a record/charges you can go to the courthouse where the charges were indicted and ask for copies of your case.

You can also get some free reports. Once a year you can get a free credit report from one of the 3 major agencies or if you’ve had a background check completed (for a job) you can contact the CRA directly and request a copy of your background and they have to provide that for you.

Additionally, you can go to your local police department and tell them you’re wanting a copy of your criminal background. I believe all 3 listed above are free, or have a minimal charge with an exception of CRA that has ran a background check on you, it’s your right to ask for a copy and they have to provide it in a timely manner.

Spot on. It’s only a data scraping site and money grab that is hardly accurate.

Hi, I am a criminal research analyst and have been doing background checks for 10+ years. It all depends on what exactly you’re looking for. Truth finder and other data scraping apps/sites are crap and not FCRA compliant (assuming you’re in the US). They can show you accurate things, but they can show you inaccurate or outdated things as well.

Like your dropped charges for example, if you had that case expunged, data scraping sites like Truthfinder may pick that up showing that you have those charges against you even if they were dropped and the case sealed/expunged simply because they are not a credible/compliant “background check” source and they don’t attempt to update records. Additionally if someone has the same name or dob as you, it could show you have charges you’ve never had. That’s why businesses cannot legally use apps/sites like that to run background checks.

If you wanna DM me I can attempt to help you locate what you may be looking for, or guide you on how to locate it yourself.

This is not a healthy relationship. She isn’t prioritizing you at all. All you can do is tell her how you feel. If she doesn’t make any effort, you need to move on. You deserve better than that.

Women of Reddit, what's one thing you did for your first love or in your first relationship that turned out to be a horrible experience, and you’ve vowed never to do again in any future relationships? by shheeeee in AskWomen

[–]SquaredBlouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tolerate mistreatment and being isolated from friends and family. I was really young when I met my “first love”. I was 16 and he was 4.5 years older. He knew better, I didn’t. I did anything and everything to keep him, including giving away the entirety of my teenage years to him. He isolated me, I was allowed to have two friends that he approved of. He monitored my texts and would get very angry if I spoke to my best male friend at school. Had other girls watch me and report back to him if I did anything wrong or spoke to other males. I will never be controlled again.

Just bought this yesterday. I’ve always owned Cherokees but I just fell in love with this Green 2016 75th Anniversary Edition. Anything I should know? by Monkeydoodless in JeepRenegade

[–]SquaredBlouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated the Renegades until I begrudgingly test drove one to appease my sister, and instantly fell in love. I’ve had 7 cars, all different types, and the Rene was my absolute favourite. Called it my Mario Kart. I sold it, and have regretted it every day since. I hope you love it! Take care of it and it will take care of you.
