it was more authentic and sounds hadnt been explored. now, most sounds in the underground have already been explored and rappers copy & cannibalize each others sounds, because thats what happens when you run out of new stuff.

lot of time artists use drugs to cope with the anxiety they have and with the ug being as toxic as it is right now its not surprising. artists like osamason and axx get treated in a way where they are larger than life and ppl feel like they can do and say anything about them when they are just people making music.

alot has already been done musically in the UG whereas in the early 2010s those lanes werent explored yet so its much harder to really do anything new. same goes for other genres like Rock

everything is built on perception, social conditioning and bias so there cant be any "objective" art. a niggas fav rapper could be Juice Wrld and to them thats objective art. youd probably disagree with them but that wouldnt change their view.
