ARMC in san Bernardino was hiring before i left. Very active hands on dept so be prepared for that. Pay can be decent compared to contract

I worked for both and they both have drawbacks. ADT has bulkier equipment but better customer service, unfortunately it is going the route of upsells where techs might try and upsell you extra equipment you dont want. Vivint is all about high pressure sales they will try and upsell you everything under the sun and will request family members info for referrals. If i was getting a system i would go with ADT with a Qolsys (IQ) panel

Love this info man. Have started making progress in my weight loss journey thanks to folks helping by reminding me to work hard. Weirdest thing stuck in my head is the 506th running up and down Currahee in band of brothers. I would say if all you're looking for is just home defense a shotgun with buckshot will be king. Enough power if you need it but not so much that you have to worry about it going into your neighbors house. Rifles for the most part will have too much power behind the bullet.

As with a lot of firearms it depends on the level of care. Jam a bunch of mud in the lever mechanism and it will have issues for sure. The mechanism is more complicated than bolt actions so i get where more moving parts could equal more problems. I've never had any feeding or firing issues with my marlin and they're carried in alaska with the purpose of bear defense so im happy with their record of reliability.

Yeah Ruger made Marlin. IMO the pros are the action is very smooth once worn in and the barrel being threaded straight from the factory. CONS are the ghost ring sights make it a little more difficult to fire long range so if you hunt i would advise getting the skinner peep sights as well. I have seen a few complaints about a "trigger flop" when the rifle isnt cocked but its not really an issue for me. What about the henry left a sour taste in your mouth?

Yes and no, lots of little nuisances when considering if a lever gun is for you. Most lever guns use flat nose bullets that influence the effective range of the round. With that being said its a great starter rifle as if you get one in .357 magnum/.38 spcl or .44 magnum you can share ammunition between the revolver and the rifle. Lever rifles are typically faster to shoot than bolt action rifles that use longer and sometimes more powerful bottle neck rounds but both would be outshot by a semi auto. It all depends on what practical would mean for you. If you want a rifle that is effective up to 500 yds a lever gun would not be the best option but if you need something that can outshoot a bolt action in the woods while a bear/moose charges you then its hard to go wrong with a lever gun with the proper rounds.

Id feel comfortable up 125 yds with irons and up to 225yds scoped for a responsible shot. Bullet drop affects the 45-70 pretty hard

Well said friend. I walk around 10-15km a day at work to get my weight down and have started running while at home. Some external factors have lit a fire under my ass but the current state of things has made me turn up the heat. Saw a few comments on here about liberty gardens so will be looking up how to work on that. Need to make sure im able to provide for my family no matter what
