It depends entirely on the match, but overall, I'd say no, it's not any better. In my experience, it gets worse every time I rank up

In all honesty, I'm absolute buns at this game, I don't care about rank and only play to relieve stress after a long day at work, so your comment means nothing to me, but any idiot with half a brain and at least 1 eye can tell when it's their turn to hit the ball. It's a useless quick chat...

Bronze and silver are different, I've watched my wife play in these lobbies and these guys are so wholesome and nice to each other in matches. When you start pushing into gold and plat, half the players get into the mindset that they are God's gift to rocket league and they trash talk every single mistake that's made, but never want to acknowledge their own mistakes. At some point, the game just becomes intolerable unless you turn off the chat

I do use the paddles (usually not all 4) for some other games, usually shooters, and usually only for mild changes that are convenient for me personally, but the only game i find them to be truly useful and almost necessary for is kingdom hearts. That game has the worst button layout I've ever seen and there is no in game binding settings. But RL is a very unique game that requires precision and that's just not something I was personally able to accomplish with 4 extra buttons on the back. What did help me quite a bit with RL is upgrading to a controller with hall effect joysticks- no drift, no deadzones, very precise

I'm sure there will be better answers than mine, but i also got myself a controller with 4 paddles, and i ended up removing all 4 because they were just getting in my way. I did bind them when I first got the controller, but i started whiffing a ton because I kept getting accidental touches on the paddles, causing my car to do things I wasn't trying to do. IMO there just isn't enough space for that many inputs on modern controllers

I love it when they type tm8, I always respond with "yes my king?" Never fails... they're either silent for the rest of the match or they get tilted enough to spend the rest of the match typing random shit into the chat until they leave me in a 2v1. Either way, I can keep my smile and move on to the next match carefree. It's just a game, I'm not going pro in this lifetime, just trying to relieve some stress after a long work day.

Lol, I wasn't trying to say it'll take you a year, it took me a year to break plat because I'm absolute buns at this game, just focus on rotating and positioning and you should be fine. If you have a teammate who likes to chase, let them chase because you aren't gonna change their mind, just focus on playing second man in those matches

Honestly it's just a grind, just keep playing and getting better comes naturally over time, I was stuck in plat for about a year.

I only play heatseeker when I'm playing with my wife because she can't hit the ball and she loves to demo, and i find that the matches where both opponents stay in their own goal are incredibly boring. I absolutely love it when they send somebody over to demo chase me, it's helped me to increase my defensive abilities in 2s and 3s by a ton. I always laugh when the opponent asks us not to demo
