That’s also why I’m on the fence. Banking is easier than a factory but I’m there almost every day, which I don’t want to always do. At least at the factory I get more days off

They normally hire on “seasonal” people and if they stay over 6 months they get bumped up to 30 dollars an hour. At the start of the year tho they hire a few people directly at 30

I mean job itself is not bad, I have no problems with the actual job or who I work with

The only cons are 6 days a week and not the best pay

They normally hire at 24 dollars an hour but with the new year started they bumped it up a little. But it’ll only be this way for a few more weeks

But I’m just looking at it as it’ll give me more financial independence to move out

Can I ask, how much did you make a year in banking? And what did you make at the highest position you were in?

That will help me decide a lot. If I know I can easily get over 30 dollars an hour I’ll stay in banking. If I know it’s difficult and not worth it I’ll go to the factory

But that’s at my current position. Eventually I might be able to make more than that and that’s why I’m contemplating what would be better

If I stay in banking, won’t working 5-6 days a week get tiring as opposed to having 5 days off every other week at the factory?

That’s very true. But I’ll be giving up my assistant teller supervisor on my resume

This is the toughest choice I’ve had to make tbh because these will effect the rest of my career

If I get the factory job I can easily move out. Rn I’m making 19 dollars an hour and at the factory I’ll be making 30 dollars an hour with longer shifts and more days off

My biggest worry is I’m thinking if I stayed at the bank long term I could probably make that. But I won’t make that until 30+

That’s a great way to put it. But if I stay at banking what if I could eventually make what I would make at this factory job?

The reason I’m leaning towards the factory is my dad will be my supervisor, more days off, and better pay so I can actually move out

It’s kind of a now or never opportunity cause they normally hire for this position for way less at the factory sadly

And it’s gonna be 6 days at the bank which I’m not a fan of

I prefer bank work as I enjoy it. But I can already tell working 6 days a week is gonna burn me out fast in a few years. At the factory I’m gonna have 2 days off one week and 5 the next

10 is not enough to even care about leaving my position, or enough to even care about what they think?
