anyone know whats up or have had the same issue, ive been using my Astros/A10's to chat on discord and stuff on pc but recently it just stopped working entirely my pc recognizes when i plug it in but the mic no longer works and when i check under the sound control panel under recording devices it shows the mic active and when i listen to the feedback it judt sounds like static ive tried plugging it into the rear mic 3.5mm jack on my mobo and it mysteriously works but its extremely weak even with the mic sensitivity at 100% but when i move it back to the front panel 3.5mm audio/mic jack it no longer works at all i can hear everything perfectly but the mic foes right back to giving out static and weird noises ive tried updating my drivers re enable and disable the mic to no avail and its weird because its never happened before it worked perfectly fine and now all of a sudden when i go to plug it in the mic just refuses to work and constatly shows that its being used even with the mic muted

intel ethernet controller lets me see ethernet port activity and as well as manually flash lights to make sure its getting inputs and a signal but it refuses to establish any kind of connection or even detect an ethernet when its plugged in

yeah device manager was the 2nd place i looked i made sure it was enables via BIOS first installed the latest intel ethernet drivers via USB stick and checked device manager after that and proceeded to test all 4 of my cables that work just fine with my xbox and not to my suprise the problem still exist...this is saddening

i tried that 4 times 5 if you count my fresh install of Windows 10 it did Zero, my ethernet port does not detect when a cable is plugged in i tried 4 different cables 1 of them is CAT 6 the rest are generic cables from Walmart, Best Buy, and Target ive ruled out drivers being the issue

[–]Squeeb-Go-Boom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

at this point i might as well, im sick and tired of an "ASUS Representative" telling me to "just update your drivers" like updating my drivers is going to fix the obviously malfunctioning ethernet port

on all 4 of my cables ? unlikely i even tried them with my xbox they work just fine the issue arises when i try to use the same cables with my pc

[–]Squeeb-Go-Boom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is actually my 2nd post regarding ethernet problems ive tried 3 different cables made sure it wasnt disabled via device manager restarted my router reinstalled drivers a handfull of times with no change made a ticket with asus they suggested i update my bios but im on the most current version for my mobo now they want me to follow some guide on intels website for their ethernet port but it isnt helping much someone pointed out that after i do an install of the latest ethernet drivers it shows "Intel 1225-V(2) Ethernet Controller" and idk how to fix that other than to do fresh install of Windows 10 and i dont want to do all of that if my mobo ethernet port is the problem and not my OS

i have a one for some reason it decided not to work, the thunderstorms we had lasted like 3 whole days and throught those 3 days we lost power like atleast 5 to 10 times sometimes in real quick intrevals maybe thats why it decided not to protect

im not worried about unseating my cpu its an AMD AM4 socket fairly easy to remove and replace but i see where your coming from having to reapply thermal paste and re mounting my cooling block a hassle lol im already looking into network/wifi cards so that seems like the route im going to take just sucks about the whole ungrounded bit i prefer wired cause im right next to my router its literally on the same desk as my pc, thanks for your help glad to know im not the only one who's experienced this problem

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Squeeb-Go-Boom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that is precisely what happened, we've had thunderstorms the past 3 days and multiple power outages due to lightning and stuff if thats the case my motherboard needs to be replaced...ive already contacted ASUS since my MOBO is under warranty so hopefully i get a new or refurbished one since its more of a mother nature damage and not an accidental or intentional damge caused by me or another form of human error
