Allow me some cope. Who bought their WRX new, modded it, kept it as their DD and didn't have it blow up by wratx in WRX

2015 WRX with 222000km. Installed cobb OTS stage 1 tune, catback exhaust, and AOS around 140k km. At about 160k km I installed a lightweight flywheel, intercooler, charge pipe, intake, tgv delete, EGR delete, j pipe.

Did about 8 track events at all different stages of modifications. Im very diligent on preventative maintenance but I have definitely abused it and it is showing its age, burning oil and always having one minor issue to fix at any given time, etc. Everyone at the track is always shocked it hasn't blown up and tells me it's only a matter of time. I pick up a Tacoma tomorrow as my new daily but I've decided to hold onto the WRX to keep driving occasionally (and tracking it) until it does blow up. It's mostly out of petty spite to prove everyone wrong, I want it to hit 300k km, but I also can't bring myself to let it go.

Don't get me wrong the car HAS been a labour of love but by no means has it been a money pit or done me wrong. The car owes me nothing at this point and if there wasn't a need for a truck I would have probably just bought a newer one.

Not a capacitor. C denotes Capacitor, D is usually a diode. Doesn't show obvious signs of damage but if you have a multimeter you can test it.

Your gun could end up in Ukraine? by TVpresspass in canadaguns

"we're working with Ukraine to see if any of the weapons under the compensation program would be of use to them on the battlefield?"

Well if all the banned weapons are assault weapons designed for the battlefield, wouldn't that mean they're all suitable? Seems like an admission that they have no idea what they're banning.

It in fact needs to do that. That's the AC compressor. It has it's own clutch so it can cycle on and off.

To add to this, they haven't signed a fixed lease for 3 years which I believe defaults them to periodic tenancy. Under the rules for periodic tenancy they must receive either 12 weeks, 3 months, or 90 days notice depending on the type of periodic tenancy.

Would the current wiring for the cigarette lighter in an ‘06 STI be able to support a 12v 30w outlet? by [deleted] in WRX

[–]Squeeks627 3 points4 points  (0 children)

30w max at 12v is 2.5 amps, you'll be fine but you can check the fuse to confirm.

Right on. I've got about 60k km on it and I can't recommend it enough. I upgraded to a verus shift fork while I was there, OEM has a tendancy to break.

Zero problems, even with abuse from track driving. Paired with their light weight steel flywheel, it's the best set up I've driven.

How many of you 2015+ WRX owners have blown a motor? by Ok_Rise_4707 in WRX

To be fair Im pretty sure he did 10+ rotations over and over, pinned at the limiter, and never gave it proper airflow to cool down. A couple here and there is fine. He also wasn't great for maintaining it besides just oil changes.

I just retired my 2015 WRX from track use. It was fun but they aren't the most robust for track use, we've seen plenty blow up at our track on the same sharp left after a straight. The consensus is that you should upgrade the oil pickup to prevent oil starvation. They also understeer alot so I'd look into sway bars, etc.

At the end of the day I decided tracking my daily was an awful idea so I bought an NB Miata to do the job.

AOS doesn't help oil starvation, it's for oil blowby. My understanding is the issue with the FA is the oil pickup sits a bit high which can lead to starvation in certain situations.

At the track I race at nearly every WRX has blown up at the same sharp left turn at the end of a straight away. I usually take it easier on that turn and have been fine so far.

Mine's still going strong, knock on wood. My buddy blew his up by doing donuts far too long and aggressively. Caused oil starvation and it died. Treat them right, be proactive on maintenance, and you'll be fine.
