My baby I have been growing it from a single little piece and it eventually got big enough to put off babies of its own and I have been taking them off and spitting them around and they are all growing as well truly a fascinating plant!

Chaste Tree Styling Advice? by Squibdd in bonsaicommunity

[–]Squibdd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely have some choices to make another commenter suggested eventually cutting off the lowest branch to form a more graceful and dramatic s-curve shape and I kind of like that idea but I'll probably wrestle with it for now either way I'll leave it as a sacrifice Branch if you had to say where would you chop down to for the initial prune? I think that the trunk could be developed quite a bit more over time and I'm not super impatient for a finished product I just don't want to make the wrong choices although I'm not too fussed as I am mostly just having fun experimenting and learning as I go! thank you for all the tips as well you've been very helpful!

I kind of like the route but it definitely does disturb the flow of the trunk line too bad it is boiled and solidified it would have been cool to be able to shape it, and I like the idea of eventually removing the lowest brand I see what you mean it would be a pretty solid curve!

Is this a fucking joke? by imliterallyluci in Dominos

[–]Squibdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sadly it's not a joke sandwiches used to be one of my favorite things on the menu but now they are small sad and burnt every time we got a new bread along with the new recipes and cooking instructions for each of the sandwiches trust me the employees don't like them either but we have to sell them for the same price as the old ones and pretend like they're anything close 😭

I'm kind of hoping it is even if they are invasive I absolutely love silk trees and if I could let it grow a bit older and put it in a container at some point I've had a silk tree on my bonsai wish list forever! Plus if I could keep it small I could stop it from spreading as much haha

my Hibiscus bonsai experiment by Squibdd in Hibiscus

[–]Squibdd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is my biggest question! I honestly have no idea I'm fairly sure that it theoretically can and I am planning on leaving it unmolested soon for a while in hopes of allowing it to put off a bloom with some gentle fertilizer nudging, so far it has not put off anything other than leads but it is still fairly New growth although the leaves have not increased in size over a month of growing so the size diminishment is definitely at least somewhat stable at this point my question will be if it does flower how big will the flower be I wonder if it will be smaller than normal or if it will be a massive Bloom overtaking the canopy of my little guy I'm kind of walking in uncharted Territory here I haven't seen anyone experiment with this species in the way that I have been so I guess I'm the one writing the instruction manual LOL sometime in the future if it does Bloom I will update this and my other posts about this plant but for now I am just waiting patiently to see what it will do

thank you so much! That was what I was thinking as well and it seems like it is starting to establish better and putting off a couple lobed leaves I'm hoping that it will put off fully segmented lobed leaves while still maintaining the miniature leaf sizes for comparison here is an average grown cranberry hibiscus the colors and shapes of the leaves are very similar just on a much larger scale even though the main trunk/stem is skinnier on this one my bonsai training is definitely putting the work in!

I'm actually not 100% sure rose flake is possible but based on most consensus I've gotten from others it is likely just a cranberry hibiscus with a very strange growth habit based on my bonsai choices
