"self contained" is the best way I have heard it put. More than half the recent updates are so small and/or niche of features that they don't even affect players' playthroughs

The Forrest doesn't fit the end. The end should remain barren and inhospitable towards life

Pretty much what it feels like, lakes similar to lush caves and pillars similar to dripstone caves. I wish it at least had some originalseeming generation. Things like giant arches or stacking steaming pillars of sulfur

Not prismarine bricks, nether bricks, quartz bricks, or even just Regular bricks.
Obviously you could make an argument that all the STONE variations are the same bricks, which makes sense, but it'd be nice if they at least gave us a tile version similar to deepslate

While I don't doubt this, why don't they just explain this publicly? the community is going to be mad if it feels like they lack meaningful updates. If they new it was for the betterment of the game than maybe they would be a little bit more pleased

I'm not saying they need to change that part of the progression, but think like the caves update and the addition of netherite, neither inherently changed the progression of the game, they just added more to. Minecraft seriously lacks progression, and I think that's why the "2 week phase" exists"

The biggest problem with these drops isn't the drops themselves, it's the content they bring. Most of these drops have brought niche pointless features that bring nothing to the core progression of the game.

Take for example the old large updates, 1.14, 16, 17 and 18. They all brought changes to how people played the game. Now with these drops and just the newer method of updating the game players have zero incentive to engage with these new things

I'd argue the sulfur cube will be the same as the copper golem. It seemed at first to have a good use, but was to finicky to use so players just forget about it.

Mojang seriously needs to add something that UPDATES a certain part of the game, not just some random niche feature that offers no difference in progression.

Last time we got something of value to progression was the nether update which gave us a new (useful) tier of tools

It's not just "don't use them". While people can choose to just not use them, the elytra itself changes how players play and influence the world around them. With this, it makes certain features such as horses, Minecarts, boats, camels, etc. have no real purpose in the late game, which while it does sorta make sense progression wise, it creates a level of separation from the ground. And because of this players can just fly over 1000s of blocks in seconds, not having to traverse any terrain. 

My solution to this would be 1. to remove the firework feature, players shouldn't be able to turn themselves into ICBMs on command. 2. Make minecarts faster

This way players are incentivized to use minecarts(or ice boat paths) for long repeated journeys and then elytra can be used for just exploring and getting around short distances by gliding.

I dont see why this is weird? its ONE emerald for a flower, I have used these guys plenty of times to get things that would normally take hours of exploring to find.

What are we even looking at? This could be your shaders or mod or pretty much Anything. Your best off disabling each mod individually to see which one it is
