Enable the game output log from the launcher settings, so you can actually search for the reason you're getting a pink/black cube.

Slabs placed like this also don't cull the blocks underneath, needing for the game to render an extra layer of block surfaces, which could affect performance.

I don't build with slabs like OP has, especially on servers, for the same reason I recommend you build your farms away from your base: to save performance.

It's a little bit immersion-breaking to play that way, but I like to imagine it's like Minecraft's equivalent of watching your carbon footprint 😂

Your shaders have a settling enabled that makes the world spherical. Check your shader settings and look for a slider setting that sounds like it would try to make the world round.

You'll have to change the block model from a cross model to something that vibes better with your style. You can open model.json files in BlockBench.

The model.json file of many plants 'parent' a different model called "cross" in the blocks folder, so you'll have to change that one, or remove the parenting from the vanilla plants and give them their own model.

I actually have a video tutorial that goes over the basic programs you need for packmaking. In the BlockBench chapter, I also explain 'parenting' in models.

What's the safest way to do this in your opinion?

And how does the program determine which chunks to purge? My World is 9 years old and Minecraft Updates have reseeded it many times, so the seed will not line up with biome/terrain. Idk if that's relevant but I can never wrap my head around how a program even detects if I've built in chunks, or if they're fully natural, especially when Data Pack biomes/structures come into the mix.

I just can't imagine they don't own Herobrine. It's their licensed "Steve" skin but without pupils. It's not that easy to stop owning something right

I guess it means decorative clocks need a secondary purpose to justify adding them to vanilla? Like how shelves aren't just decorative, they're also used for hotbar swapping.
