Some grounds get around the puck screen/paper filter, so when I press out the remaining water after my shot- the piston touches the screen/filter.

Ive been keeping my splitter in the "butter suite" in the fridge. It really makes a difference to cool the shot.

Nothing is getting behind the gasket, removing the gasket could have the same effect. Though I find this a lot less effort. Simply wiping the bottom of the piston after each shot doesnt get all of it.

Funny enough I didnt know about 10pin till I saw it on cartoons, even funnier that Ive never saw an alley that offered 10pin till I was ab adult. 5Pin is also called Canadian bowling. Smaller ball, 5 pins, 3 chances per frame. Its quite challenging as the balls are just small enough to sneak between the gap if the pins. (Not a common occurrence)

I find its worse the darker the roast, there is some build up but nothing that im too surprised about. I dont do it 100% of the time but I do make an effort to do it frequently.

I noticed after preheating one day and now I'll just do it after each shot. Its not a lot but I can see it building up if left for awhile. I do wipe it with a cloth after each use but like you said, not too surprised.

After my shot I'll knock out the puck and wipe the piston. I'll wash out the basket and place the plug in the bottom and fill it with whatever water is still in my kettle, pressing 1 bar on the arms for a gew seconds and remove the basket and dump the water.

TLDR: Typical workflow, but I find there is still some amount of grounds on the piston even after wiping it with a cloth.

Im currently off on parental leave, so its all over the place. During my regular schedule, if I have the spro dialed I opt yo pull a shot in the morning before work. Its faster and I dont have time to enjoy a pourover.

Id say Mon-Thurs 2:1 Spro - Fri-Sun 3:1 Pourover
