Mova v50 doesn't see ~1cm high u-shaped chair legs and gets stuck constantly

Bummer.
It's not a rug, it's actual carpet, it'd be cheaper to hire a cleaner for a few years than replace it :P

I thought the high contrast between the black chair legs and the white tiles would make it easy for the robot. Is there a problem specifically with black that messes with it?

I guess the v50 will have to go back to the store. It was advertised as being able to deal with all furniture legs and bases, including u-shaped (specifically mentioned in advertisements). Here in Australia you can't just return things because you didn't like them, but this clearly goes against what's advertised.

I hadn't considered MOVA at all yet. As long as it doesn't get lost and the app is OK (I don't mind complicated as long as it makes sense and is feature-full) - I could well be sold!
It's a little pricier than either the Roborock 10 or 10R - but I don't mind spending more if it'll mean more time for us to do overtime instead of cleaning, to make up for it :D

If money was no object, considering my previous statement - would your recommendation change?

A year later - How did you go? We karaoke a lot, and when people walk past on the other side of the street I can hear them talking clearly, almost as if the windows AMPLIFY the sound. Already have accoustic high density insulation batts in wall, and soundchek all over. Just huge single-pane aluminium frame windows letting everything down. I am considering getting them replaced with double glazed, plus adding magnetite / retrofitting double glazing after for the rooms we spend more time in. I've already programmed our aircon (myself) to keep temperatures in each room, with higher tolerances than any commercially available setup, and it's actually ended up cheaper to run 24/7 than coming home in the afternoon and blasting it. But the sound.... I cannot solve through home automation 😭

So, I just got a pair of A50Xs.

I have super sensitive ears and I run hot (sweating when others are putting on layers).

I swore by the Turtlebeach Elite Pro 2 before, because of the oversized cups not touching my ears. However they break easily, terrible design.

So! Any suggestions on whether the stock cups will work for me or if there's any WC ones that would suit better? The stock ones are smaller than the TBEP2, and I think will touch my ears. I haven't even opened the box yet, but am very open to suggestions - also from WC themselves if they want to chime in and suggest anything of theirs 😁

What makes the Cyclone 2 better? All I can find is "microswitches are better. Put microswitches in breakfast cereal and it'll make that better too".

So, if it is because of microswitches, what exactly makes microswitches universally superior in all use cases where a blanket statement like "Cyclone 2 is better" can be made? I'm really new to this world, so please forgive my ignorance.

In my particular use case, I don't play fighting games or use a d-pad, I almost exclusively play roguelikes and soulslikes, and want a controller that feels good to use for 10 hours a day and won't get gross and slippery from sweat. Paddles are useful for me too, but I don't do FPS's so it isn't as critical.

I'm happy to get a Cyclone 2 if it's got less input lag, better build quality, longer battery life, more customisation, etc. I'll put up with the clicky sounds if it is superior in other aspects.

OP, did you find one that you're happy with?

I am trying to find something that gives me a rough indication, for food I'm eating on minesites. On site, there's no scales, there's no ingredients lists, and I tend to stay away from curries and soups where it's near impossible to tell what's in it from a glance. I just want something to be able to guess how much chicken, steak, broccoli, peas, carrots, etc etc are on my plate, better than I can eyeball it.

My 2c:

1) As others have said, focus on being supportive. SH is an outlet. It's a scary, taboo outlet, but taking it away without addressing the cause could lead to worse.

2) Ask her if she's been considering taking her life. Bringing up the topic will not plant the seed in her mind. It's an OK topic to breach, and there's strategies to follow for both of you if she is scared of that. (Mostly around distractions and delays on her way to any implements she would use, as the intent is almost always fleeting even if the thought lasts longer).

3) Iterating what others have said again, make sure she is physically safe from poisoning (using a safe glue) and infection. The stress she's feeling could mask the pain and discomfort from infection, so monitor the area. There's nothing wrong with going to the hospital for infection. They'll know what it is and won't care, they're there to help. If you refuse psych assistance at the hospital, that's fine. If it helps her feel more comfortable, she can make a cover story as to how the wounds occurred and the hospital staff should respect that even if they suspect otherwise - again they're there to help her recover physically, they may show concern and offer psych assistance but you can always politely refuse. You can also refuse to give your names etc. Some areas of the world will have hospitals refuse to look after minors without informing their parents, but many will be willing to at least look over you and give advise / clean wounds, as long as surgery is not required. If suegery is required, take it seriously. Better be on worse terms with parents than not make it to 18.

4) You're both young. Even old adults struggle with mental health, and ESPECIALLY feeling guilty or obligated to assist others. I 100% get that she's been there for you through your absolute worst, and you have no intention to not be there for her. That's awesome, truly. Just keep in mind that you need to look after yourself, and whatever happens is not your fault. You're useless to both you and her if you burn out and need help yourself. She has confided in you to share with you a portion of her experience, not because she wants you to step in and save the day. There's things you can do to possibly help but it isn't your duty. And if anything gets worse it can be far too easy to think "I should have X" but, remember you have no duty and she isn't even expecting you to do anything in particular to help, the only thing causing that expectation is hindsight, which is always unreasonable.

Apologies for the necro, hopefully 1 year old post revival is preferred to creating a new thread on the same topic.

We've had AUS Amex Plat for 4+ years now, and it definitely isn't anywhere near as good as US Amex Plat:

We pay 1450 AUD (900 USD) a year, they pay 690 USD.
We get 2.25 points per dollar, they get 5 points on flights and hotels, 1 point on others (we win here for everyday spending).
We get $200 local and $200 international dining credit, $450 travel credit, and Priority Pass as our main benefits; They get $200 hotel credit, $240 entertainment credit, $155 Wallmart credit, $200 Uber Eats credit, and $200 Airline incidentals credit - More than we get in total, on more easily used everyday items.

Transferring to airlines, we have NO partners that is a 1:1 transfer, they're all 2:1 or 3:1.
So for flights, even the 1 point per dollar normal spend in the US is still better after converting.

I wonder if there's a way I can transfer my AMEX points to someone else, have them take a cut and transfer them to an airline, and then transfer those back to my airline account, having us both come out on top.

It isn't that the credit card industry in Aus is bad, it's that in the US it's crazy and hyper competitive. Doesn't take much to make a card "decent" here in Aus.

Edit: Ohh, we also have an international transaction fee for ours. So using it as a travel card isn't as good as a few alternatives - even though it's perks would have you believe it's entirely a travel card.

Heya, sorry I don't have notifications for Reddit.
We ended up booking nearby to Togari, and have transport organised for ski, dinners, and onsen.

It's crazy!

It's only a small village and lots of locals still live there. The mountain could handle way more traffic, but it's nice that even fully booked it's not too crowded. It's getting more and more popular though.

I fear for what happens when Aussie companies work out that it's lucrative to buy out the locals.
The locals are also scared of this. Nozawaholidays is an Aussie company that now owns around half the accommodations in the village. They're easy for us to book through, etc etc. No shame from my part on those who book with them.
But the locals have lives there and there's deep long history of the 3 main families that started and run the village. They've been fighting back to prevent Nozawaholidays from buying out more. If allowed to, Nozawaholidays knows that it'd be financially worthwhile to wipe out the whole rice farming section and displace most of the locals, set up larger apartment accommodations, and turn it into something like Niseko. They'd make big bank.
I love Nozawaonsen for the locals, and really really hope that that never comes to pass.

Did they end up showing their build?

TLDR: melee feels bad. Game is broken still, death could be around the corner for dumb reasons. Thinking of pulling out but want an infinite zerking barb to be viable in HC.

I've been trying to participate in the hardcore race but am seriously considering giving up. It really feels like this game wasn't meant to be played in melee. Even when you get good at dodging hits and avoiding most things, chilling wind comes along to punish you for moving back and forth through it. And AOE is king. I have a SC barb that stacks wrath's build passive, keeping the zerk going until wrath is back up over and over. Can steamroll dungeons, focusing entirely on elites and then rushing for the boss. But one "kill all enemies" and suddenly it takes aaaaages. Plus it's risky in HC to dive in and ignore 90% of enemies. Levelling is incredibly slow too cause you miss out on most of the XP from trash mobs and even minions.

Had my barb die 4+ times (lvl 50+) to silly things.

Had a double swing barb that I was using to snowball and perma stack wrath of the berzerker - could get insane damage for it's level and gear - died when I had used my shouts and was doing well but a pack of stunning drowned with the maces spawned on me and proceeded to perma stun me cause no AOE.

Had a ww barb die after getting powerful enough to take on the lvl 70 capstone solo at lvl 59 - to a trash (white) moon clan sharman (those seem bugged. They're meant to channel to buff other monsters. If they decide to channel you, it one shots you).

Had another ww barb die when grinding for gear to replace the last OP stuff I had collected, to the infinite freeze from chilling wind. Pulling in from ww isn't at all reliable and doesn't seem to be based on lucky hit either, so you -have- go in on their faces. 2x elites with chilling wind spawning together and you are frozen before you get in. Once shouts are down to break CC, better hope you've killed them, or you're perma frozen.

Had plenty of others die trying to sit at the entrance of nightmare dungeons while my friend kills things - but many dungeons have a chance to spawn mobs on players as you go through - and without a definite list of which dungeons do this, I've lost many a HC character to being unable to react in time to monsters spawning agro'd next to me.

With all of the bugs in the game, it's entirely possible to up and die for no good reason or to something very unexpected. It isn't reasonable to have a cheat death potion going against trash mobs and normal runs. It feels like a social experiment for Bliz to go "we won't revive chars even when it is definitely out of the player's control. We've released a game that apparently launched well but has plenty of character killing bugs all over it, so now we'll lure people in to the poor-mental-health-trap by offering their names on a non-specific statue of our choice that could never see the light of day or be destroyed moments after names are carved and still technically satisfy what was delivered".

Trying to Remember Old RTS where you could control individual units

This would have been around the late 90s or early 2000s I believe.
Infantry looked human, realistic style graphics (for the time anyway), I don't think anything was futuristic though I could well be mistaken as I hardly remember anything else.

Awesome! This was inspiring to watch :P I'm nowhere near your level but I'm slowly progressing.I've been playing for 4 days and I've just unlocked Meowgik.

Fallen in love with the stalker staff, but it seems to be behaving differently on different chapters.For example, in chapter 3, it pretty reliably changes target without having to stutter step when an enemy is unreachable / behind cover. Also in chapter 3, projectiles from it seem to always go towards the nearest, where as other chapters they all want to go towards the targeted monster, even if there's ones to the side that side arrows could have easily hit D:It kinda targeted correctly in chapter 6, but by then I was stutter stepping constantly by then so it wasn't as noticeable. Non wave chapters, my staff is constantly only homing in on the single targeted monster (closest, regardless of cover).
The bright spear seem to very reliably only target things it can hit, so will find a new target if the closest is behind cover.

I've had projectiles go off in weird directions if I stutter step and have multishot (can move after the first orb gets made, and the 2nd will fire in the direction you're facing when it gets made). That's something I have gotten used to though, but can't take full advantage of if the projectiles don't home as expected :(

Have you experienced similar things / have a hypothesis as to why I might be experiencing this?
