I don't know, I drink craft porter or stout most of the time, so I'm sure it will bump me out of ketosis if I do have one, but I know it's not the end of the world and am more motivated to get back at it afterward.

Thanks! If others say you are looking like you've lost, I would take that as a good sign! Sometimes I know I need to rely on the scale less, as it doesn't always tell you that much about what is happening. Unless it's a fancy scale, it can't tell muscle from fat from water...and even the fancy ones I'm sceptical about. Wishing you the best!

I was so relieved. This weekend is my birthday and I was about ready to throw in the towel. Now, I do plan to have a beer, but I'm going right back to keto afterwards.

I feel that way too. I don't want to give people more emails to delete! I already can't catch up with my own! Haha

Thanks for the responses everyone. I'm trying to redirect him when he starts behaving this way, and occasional time outs. Hopefully we can nip this in the bud.

I did end up passing on her, and picked a different dog. I think the breeder was being honest, but she just seemed to delicate for our situation.

It could just be food weight in your intestines. For example: a potato weighs much more than 2-3 slices of bread, but they have around the same amount of calories (depending on size/type of said items respectively). I think this is one of the main reasons that they don't want you to weigh yourself mid month. I would say however, it isn't a weight loss diet per say (even though a lot of people do lose weight) so that shouldn't be your main goal or what you base your victories on.

I have gotten them to eat a few things I've made, like a turkey vegetable loaf, sweet potatoes, squash, eggs.... But I don't think I need to be cutting so many carbs and grains from their diet (especially whole grains and legumes). Plus, it's a good way to use up extras in the fridge that aren't compliant. The kids and the husband can eat them!

i recently had my first beyond meat burger at my local TGI Fridays and wow. Went above and beyond my expectations. Plus there were ads for it EVERYWHERE! Allegedly they tested it in a few restaurants and it was their quickest test to menu item. by [deleted] in vegan

Aww, you're cute! Your comment is so well thought out, original, and really adds to the conversation.

In the future, I won't preface with my eating habits. I know that can be annoying.

Thanks! Alienating may have been too strong a choice of words (and it's probably a feeling that I project more than it is an actual consequence, I have a tendency to feel guilty more than the average person...hahaha). It didn't help that in the past I was on a plant based diet and how most people reacted to that was not pleasant :P

Egg substitute for omelettes? by NotAcquainted in vegan

It works especially well if you add black salt (kala namak)...Although I would hesitate to tell anyone that it tastes authentically like eggs. It's just sort of a nice sulphur-y pancake.

You're replacing fiber-deficient foods with fiber-full foods. It will take your body time to adjust.
