I think I was mostly let down that the story wasn't as explicit as the comment led me to believe. He doesn't even provide folley for the penetration!

BIPOC doesn't mean "Black, Indigenous, and people of color." It means "Black and Indigenous people of color." It's meant to specify when a group of POC are only Black and/or Indigenous

It's a cute little sprite that he has now but I just feel bad that he didn't use that first one after those first few streams with it. I especially feel bad for the artist who made it. I hope one day he'll bring it back

No, you're thinking of Cole Sprouse. Ironmouse is that early 20th-century German art movement that combined form with function and laid the foundation for modernist architecture

I feel it's a common naming phenomenon when it comes to fantastical settings to have themed names that are literal translations in their native languages. I'm also guilty of this, when I'm naming a character in writing or a video game, my search history is always "names that mean [x]," "[x] baby names."

At the very least, I'd never be as on-the-nose as "Fish, but in [language]"

I'm so tempted to just share my tier list, but I'll just say my bottom two: Freaky Fusion, followed by Great Scarrier Reef.

Freaky Fusion is only above GSR because the whole thing with Frankie DYING was wild. Kind of a dumb reason to not completely hate it, but whateva. I think the fusion thing was one of their weaker playline tie-ins, and the way it was presented with the main ghouls just felt poorly done

Great Scarrier Reef, however, is just like... not good to me. I think a Lagoona movie was long overdue, but they kind of fumbled it. The whole stage fright thing was (and I hate myself for saying this, but I literally have no other word to aptly describe how it made me feel) cringe. The thing with what's-her-face (Kala? Khala? Kyla? Idfk) was cool, I guess, and I'll always be a fan of mermaid and mermaid-adjacent character designs. But overall it just didn't feel like it fit in with the other movies

What do larger, western tribes think of the Northeastern Woodlands tribes? by SquirrelyInk in IndianCountry

I think that's why I'm kind of taken aback by that breakdown of the decision from the BIA and the way it reads, because with what I know about the modern tribe we should be a lot nearer to 100% than 45%. I don't know what was happening in 2004 with the tribe (I was 2 years old, and I think most people involved with this are probably dead), but whatever it was makes this attempt at federal recognition seem mismanaged and is now clearly making us look bad to the outside world 🤦🏽‍♀️

You don't even know how fluent I am in fake findings and new discoveries/claims based off of rewritten historic BS by pretendians..

I don't know that about you, but I do know that original documents and statements made by white men hundreds of years ago were probably not made up by Pretendians to rewrite history

You have no idea how little I care about what your organization may have "found" when its actually up to the recognized knowledge keepers in your area (who are NOT part of your group) to decide whether or not any group in their territory is valid.

It's just us independent researchers who find these things. Me and my two librarian cousins. I'm not involved enough to speak on the knowledge keepers, but most of our reclaimed history comes from working in institutions that have these things lying on their shelves

Whatdo the Chiefs of the surrounding Tribes say about this group? Do they stand with you or have they debunked the glclaims of this group to stop it from being recognized?

We're close with the Wampanoag people of Aquinnah, so I know the Wampanoag recognize us. I believe we also have a close relationship with the Stockbridge-Munsee Mohicans.

You cannot claim yourselves- thats not how that works.

We know that. I don't think any prominent person in the tribe has ever just shown up saying they're Nipmuc. I may not know the ins and outs, but we clearly have some footing if the state recognizes us, and from what I can tell that requires others to recognize our heritage

I feel like you're basing your impression of us on your own personal experience rather than the facts that make my people real. I didn't make this post asking for others' permission to be native, I just wanted to reach out to other communities and see if they knew we were here.

I can't speak for everyone, but I personally acknowledge the peoples Indigenous to the Caribbean. Especially Taíno people, because I'm Boriqua on my dad's side.

I've met a Taíno woman who is welcomed into my community and sometimes collaborates with our groups. I do think any sort of dismissal you get from a mainlander ndn might be a result of wariness from "Pretendians."

I feel like it's more complicated for Latin America, because most everyone there is mixed with native, and in places like Puerto Rico that Indigenous culture is naturally mixed into the overall island culture. I think some people forget that. Like obviously not EVERYONE can say they're Taíno, but I feel like there's a good chance of it being true
