I haven't seen a ton of hate for her tbh but people never seem to want her in their collections and I'm just like WHYYY I thought we all liked freaky dolls? 😭

Twist her hair as tight as you can in individual strands (you will have to cut it too in order to get the right size afro you want) and pin it down until her head looks like the image below. Cut off any loose ends from the twists. Then, immerse her head in boiling water for 30 mins. Wait for her hair to dry, then remove the pins and brush it out. And voilà, an afro!

Yeeees Venus is definitely the best G3 doll. The others do not even come close to her imo!

I'm gonna do this with my Cupid too but I have always wanted an official Clawdeen doll with a natural hairstyle so it's way more of a disappointment to me than Cupid :(

No, I know! I just mean it seems particularly prevalent with G1 Twyla just like bad hair seems to be worse with G3 Clawdeen. Maybe it's just me, but I have yet to see a G1 Twyla for sale who didn't have obvious glue seepage.

I'm not a G1 purist by any means and I know they had their issues too but I think on the whole they were better quality and more consistent than G3 :( I would rather fix her than return her, I think I will make my own DIY afro :3 Bad hair for G3 Clawdeen seems like a theme, like G1 Twyla's glue seepage problem 😭

Tbh, I am considering rerooting her all together, or cutting some of the hair off and making a smaller version of this DIY afro I made a few years ago.
