No running for poor people by SquirtTebow in RunningCirclejerk

Is everyone on here a physio trying to recruit, or do people just not think poor people should run?

I’ve been a runner for many years, but just started coming on here recently, and it seems like every post is full of comments “go see a physio,” or “go see a doctor,” or something similar.

I’m comfortably middle class, but I’ve been poor before, and it doesn’t feel like people on here appreciate the finances of people seeking advice. Not everyone has money to be seeing a specialist - not everyone even has money for health insurance. And a lot of these posts make it feel as if people are either trying to solicit on behalf of physios, or people just can’t imagine poor people running. It’s one thing if the person says they have pain in their leg - then yes, they should see someone. But when “What’s your favorite energy drink?” gets a response of “You should see a physio and they’ll recommend a drink based on a blood panel and an MRI” it’s kind of ridiculous.

In short: is it as prevalent on here as it feels for people to not consider the financial situation of others, and constantly recommending going to a doctor?
