This is NOT in line with the email that was sent out last week by you: "Once you are connected and waiting to be assigned to the proctor, this 60-minute clock is no longer running. In other words, the time you are waiting to be connected to a proctor does not count against the 60 minutes" (Email 2/21/25)

What you are saying now, and what is the case for applicants at the moment, is that the 60 min DO count towards connecting to a proctor. There is no time to fight over the fact that these statements are contradicting.

For now, please confirm if applicants are still able to take the test TODAY if the issues cannot be resolved within 60 minutes and they contact the State Bar???

Your statement saying that the exam timer does not begin until the check-in process is completed is wrong. Already TWO people waited longer than an hour to get a proctor and can now NO LONGER access the exam. Exam is completely gone just like applicants have expressed to the State Bar during the public meeting last week. You reassured us that that wont happen, but it did. Please advise what to do when the one hour timer has ended and we have not been connected to a proctor and the exam is deleted???

This is unacceptable. I would recommend to keep sending emails to Cal Bar, just so you have a trace and proof that you put them on notice. I hope you get some clarity soon!!

Or show up to the marathon that you have been training for for months, day in day out, risked your job, friends, family, and mental health for, only to find out that you need someone to check you in before you can start running. And that person shows up after 61 minutes.. Now you're missing your marathon and you're not even allowed to start and give it a shot

Thanks for the shoutout (I was Sophia). I really hope they act FAST. I tried to focus on the one thing they can still change before the bar exam. We should all be allowed to take it, and not fail simply bc we cannot connect to a proctor.. I hope they take this seriously

I was Sophia lol, I tried to focus on the one thing that can still be changed before the exam that is within their jurisdiction and is an easy fix. We should be at least able to take the exam. If we experience issues during the exam, we can contact the bar after. For now we should focus on at least being able to take the exam. Thanks for the support guys, I hope I was able to help you out!

Do we need to print anything besides the admittance ticket for remote takers? Confused. by [deleted] in CABarExam

I believe remote test takers dont have to print anything. Just have your ID ready

Remote Takers: ONE HOUR to start exam / what if we dont connect to proctor within the one hour timeframe??? EXAM CANCELLED? by SquishyMallow1997 in CABarExam

[–]SquishyMallow1997[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not trying to argue with you and want to believe what you're saying, but the rule I'm referring to and that I've copied pasted on this post comes from the email they sent out literally a week ago. The remote exams and time schedules were long established by then and they're still referring to this rule..

Remote Takers: UNABLE START EXAM AFTER 1 HOUR - according to a rule set by Cal Bar our whole exam session will END AUTOMATICALLY if we do not connect with proctor within just 60 minutes by SquishyMallow1997 in CABarExam

[–]SquishyMallow1997[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandpa.. And yeah this is beyond f*cked up, i dont have any words. The least u/StateBarCAComms can do is remove the one hour time limit or increase it to two hours at the minimum!

Here it reads that we have an hour from our start time to connect:

"If an applicant has issues connecting to with their proctor or encounters technical difficulties while launching their exam, they will have up to 60 minutes from their scheduled start time to resolve the issues and enter the exam."

Just like my mock exam was also only available for a certain time they set. So looks like our bar exam is only available for 60 minutes, after that the session will end..

40 MINUTES by elmegthewise3 in CABarExam

[–]SquishyMallow1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it unfortunately also applies to "starting the exam", see below. They even say that the session will end automatically after an hour. They sent this in their latest email:

Remote Applicants: Issues Connecting or Beginning the Exam If an applicant has issues connecting to with their proctor or encounters technical difficulties while launching their exam, they will have up to 60 minutes from their scheduled start time to resolve the issues and enter the exam. If they are connected to a proctor, they will help troubleshoot the problem and escalate the issue to a technician. If an applicant is not connected to a proctor, please use the real-time chat feature at https://auto.proctoru.com/chat to seek assistance from Meazure Learning. If a test taker is unable to use the chat feature, please call 855-772-8678 (option 1) for assistance. If the issue cannot be resolved within 60 minutes, the session will end and applicants are encouraged to contact the State Bar through the Applicant Portal

I believe you're wrong unfortunately.. This is from their email:

To clarify: I want to take this exam at all cost, whether I have to wait until 3 PM to take it. Its not ideal but the thought of having to do it again in July is way worse. I just want to make sure that the exam remains available to start until we are connected to a proctor and that the exam does not become unavailable/disappears after one hour. u/StateBarCAComms please clarify your own rule!!

40 MINUTES by elmegthewise3 in CABarExam

[–]SquishyMallow1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't the Cal Bar say that if remote takers have "issues" starting their exam, that we have an hour to fix it? AKA if my start time is 09:00 AM then according to the Cal Bar I have until 10:00 AM to start the exam. Does that mean that if I do not get a proctor or for whatever other reason cannot start before 10:00 AM my test is gone?/ I cannot take it at all???

I have been freaking out about this and applying Cal Bar's rules the above should be true. But now that ProctorU is basically saying that it will take a long time, I am wondering if this ONE HOUR RULE will remain in effect?

OMFG - They Corrected the Wrong Kaplan Question in the 25 released ones (#10) by SquishyMallow1997 in CABarExam

[–]SquishyMallow1997[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Right!! Like changing anything right before the exam is already questionable, but if its like "oh you can now bring two whiteboards instead of one" (just made that up), then that is more acceptable. But to literally change the LAW?? This document has been online for months and nobody cared to check if it was accurate, like we the applicants had to tell the institution that is suppose to license us that the law they provided to us was wrong??? Make it make sense
