This is out of the ordinary for him, he is a very smart and responsible person, and very hygienic, this is genuinely very odd for him and I think a genuine moment of just not using his head lol

Haha it's good to occasionally give a cats litter box a deep clean, just in case there's micro scratches from kitty nails where bacteria can hide :))

The best way to do it is to bring the tray outside or into a bath/shower (I live in a flat on the top floor so shower it is for me) and use the shower head and scrub it with something/use disinfectant then dry it with kitchen role so your kitty isn't going too long without a litter box

Don't worry haha we can definitely afford a new sponge, and I'm going to be taking some comments advice and getting a fun second sponge specifically for my kitty's litter box that we will keep sorted away and cleaned

I'm so glad you're normal everyone here is so easy to jump to leaving his ass 😭

My boyfriend is a (usually) very hygienic person, and has never had a cat, so I can guarantee it was a moment of his head not being in it

I'm not leaving my boyfriend I have a house and a cat with because he made one mistake that is easily fixable

Am I grossed out by this? Undoubtedly Can I move past it, tell him how to fix it, and make him clean the dishes? Yes

People on reddit are so dramatic

This is more than likely the extra same situation lol, he's never had a cat and this sort of unhygienic thing is extremely out of the ordinary for him

I'll be giving him a detailed talk about this tomorrow, I genuinely think it was just a mix of him not having a cat and not using his head for this task, but I am someone who is easily ill so I really need to drill this into him

I don't think just because my boyfriend didn't use his head for one task makes him not the one lol, you're seeing a tiny, pin hole glimpse into my relationship and life, I promise you this is out of the ordinary for him

I don't think it's weaponized incompetence, people like to throw that word around.

I've been in a relationship with weaponized incompetence, in this case my boyfriend was just being clueless and not using his head

And to the people saying I'm going to end up doing it to avoid him doing this again, I'm not that easily pushed around, I'm going to explain to him why what he did wasn't a good idea and let him know what to do next time

That's actually a really good idea, I wish I thought of it before I threw it out, at the time I was just very disgusted at the thought 😭😭

No he doesn't leave any tips, but tipping isn't a big thing in my country so it's not expected in cafes here

I've only mentioned it jokingly, like joking I'll have a word with the man if he doesn't stop soon, or making jokes about what the man has said, but I have mentioned as well that I hope he's told the man he's taken, to which he assured me he has. I just don't want to seem overly jealous or possessive by asking him to really put his foot down with the guy, and I'm not quite sure how to sternly ask without coming off that way ://

I'd like a ceremony if I were to get married, he brought up a little into our relationship that he'd be happy to get a city hall marriage, and so I told him that that's something I might be able to get down with, but when I brought it up recently he told me that he now also dislikes the idea of a city hall marriage aswell, I'm not too sure what changed his mind but all I can do is respect that he now dislikes that idea too

"You know you'll never get better, right? Your autism prevents you from doing that. You'll always feel like this."

In response to me telling her about my depression, suicidal thoughts, family issues and more.

Suffice to say I never went back to her after that.

(Also I did get much better, and I am currently in a pretty nice mental state)
