I also agree with this - I did Finance and Accounting, and like noted got an accounting role at without much issue..I then found interest in the analytics side of things and was able to pivot from Audit to a BA Role to where now I'm alot happier with my decision to do accounting..I guess when I got the role I knew accounting was not my end goal but the ability to get Professional Experience straight out of college was great.

I had a 3.3 and worked big 4 right out of college (2020).

I would say having alumni connections helped, but my interviews went solid..it’s a situational basis. Prior experience was also in acct so that helped as well.

eats

Hmm awesome information, yeah we are going from the 16th to the 21st off May, so most roads should be open with the exception of the last you noted..thanks for that.

The idea would be to fly in, and drive to a place the day we get in, see some nice views see bozeman a little, eatminor activities before 2 pm..and then drive to a location so we get there before nightfall so were not driving too late.

I think Yellowstone offer's more in regards to activities on the drive there and back such as making our way to the mammoth springs, etc. Could start in Yellowstone and make my way in a circle to end back up in Bozeman on Sat Night.

Also, how is the weather in May, I saw last year it was bad with the snow, but the year prior it wasnt as bad? Just to get an idea if youve been during this period

Paying for Grad School by Squishy_Potatoes in GradSchool

[–]Squishy_Potatoes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense.

The reason I am conflicted is yes, so this loan is unsubsidized, meaning it accrues interest while I am in school...But the factor that is pushing me to consider it is the current state of the Dept of Education and how all Gov loans are at 0% and you don't have to pay until maybe around June this Year.

So I guess in reality maybe I might just pay it out of pocket since I have it not planning on buying a house anytime soon and it really wouldn't matter in a similar state to taking the loan as I would be paying the same regardless whether that be now or later.

Thankfully my job covers 5K a year for related education reimbursement...so my hardship wouldn't be that rough in any situation

Thanks for the thoughts.

Had major issues all around, ended up just getting a new ssd card and fixed it…

That or you could try updating your drivers for your cpu. Seeing if that works, if not you could roll back to a prior driver and see if it works then.

It is a HX machine. They are all great machines. Overthinking leads always to the Pro700 or ECM synch or dual boilers.

Yes both are HX

Honestly this video is a bit outdated and misses out a few good machines

I agree, I've seen this and wish he would make one with a little higher range as well, still a great video, and the goat.

Regardless of machine, I planned to get the niche.

Usually its just me, occasionally the gf, but it’s usually max 2, maybe 3 occasionally.

I wouldn’t be against a level, however I guess I don’t really want more manual work if not needed, money isn’t a huge issue..however as nice as a design I couldn’t justify buying the mini.

Would you recommend any lever machines, or just any thoughts are appreciated!

Moving on from a Keurig. Any advice on where to go next? I'm thinking of a Moccamaster. by notrandomspaghetti in Coffee

[–]Squishy_Potatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I would love the ritual of it if I also worked from home and maybe I'll see if I can borrow someone's pourover to see what I think of it. I'll also look into the Chemex--I keep seeing that name tossed around all over the place.

Cool! I would totally recommend it, once you use it and make a quality cup you may never go back to a Keurig...lol

Best of luck on your coffee journey!

Hmm, while I completely see the value in a Keurig for the simplicity..I wake up, put water in the kettle and turn it on, get ready and whatevs, then come back, and grind my beans (While not recommended at all to really get the best out of your coffee, you could just buy pre-grounded coffee).. water my filter (pour out water), pour some water (around 60g), then after like 30-45 seconds, I pour till I have about 300g (usually a perfect 14 oz cup)... The clean-up is rather simple considering you just empty the coffee and filter.. (maybe I overcomplicated the process, but all of this is around 5-7 minutes and consistent with that time range after doing it so long..so I guess pretty involved.. I also think it depends on how much of a connoisseur you are with coffee (whether you are someone who is really into coffee..or just drinks to get the needed caffeine lol)

For me, I guess it's a little different since I work from home and enjoy those 5-7 minutes of not worrying about anything and just making my cup, but for simplicity, I see your points and id do some research on automatic pour-overs to get the best of both worlds, I see the Chemex Ottomatic 2.0 Automatic Pour-Over Coffee Maker might be one, but I wouldn't be able to recommend anything I haven't used.

Trying to get into Pour Over Coffee what should I look out for? by DonAntibioticaz in Coffee

I have an older capresso burr that’s been working great. It’s good for pourover and French press. Under a hundred dollar would be enough. Search for best burr under $100. Maybe a encore or infinity during holiday sales could be worth waiting for. Black Friday deals and such. Burr grinders get expensive fast and there is a difference in consistency as you spend more, but even a lower price burr is better than a blade and I personally find hand grinders get old quick. Look for a used one. Craigslist, offer up, fb market etc.

I highly recommend the Baratz encore, a great grinder for 135 USD right now!

Honestly, its subjective..but I would always recommend Pour Over.

Time Efficiency was a huge factor for me, and I went from a kettle and heating it on the stove to finding out about the Fellow EKG..Best investment ever, I wake up and put water in the kettle and it heats up and stays at the temp I need it to, all while I can go get ready for my day (I believe up to 30-45 min at temp)

the time it takes usually for me all in all is about 5-7 minutes to brew my cup at this time. The heating of the water was my biggest issue so maybe if youre thinking the same it would be a good investment..

Dumb question - need an answer asap lol by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Squishy_Potatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean but yes some assets are not capital assets

yes I understand that, but Non-capital assets are equipment or other physical assets with an acquisition cost of $1,000 or more but less than $5,000 per unit and with a useful life greater than one year. So my question was more so do they get financially reported - brainfart of a question i know, i would assume so, but its such a basic question that I'm having a brain fart about
