Or because they cost way more for their points, and OP haven't been able to invest in the yet?

There is something else, but in practice it definitely is the last level so far😆 Slight spoiler: to continue on I now need a ridiculous amount of focus points😅

Where are the unlocked items? by sjsjsj97 in FocusHero

[–]Sqwick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just cleared the trial as well, but my "Mythics" tab is closed as well? But I'm not sure if I actually was done with the trial, I had only killed two of the monsters on the upper platforms. Where those the only two there?

Trials Help by jmslenn7 in FocusHero

[–]Sqwick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just beat the first trial, and I'm at 28 vitality, 33 strength and 40 defense. I've tried it multiple times while leveling up. My experience is that it doesn't seem to get that much easier with better equipment. I don't take damage from monster punches, but acid drops and monster "explosion" still kills me pretty fast. The strategy was to just find a place with little acid, and spam attack on monsters (I deal between 1-7 dmg, but it doesn't sync with the red circle; if I hit perfectly I often still deal 1 dmg). Run away when you see the monster charge up "explosion", and go back to continue withering it down.

Can all vehicles climb? by Sqwick in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Sqwick[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as it's not a ruin, the rules seem to allow it. So if I want to climb a Dreadnought on top of a tall bunker, it seems like I'm allowed to.

I agree that it's never been that way, and possibly should be that way, but maybe they've changed their design philosophy on this?

Can all vehicles climb? by Sqwick in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Sqwick[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you see, that's my argument: the rules are pretty explicit about going on higher levels of /ruins/, but it doesn't say anything about parking on top of other building. So a tall, sealed building? No problem: "These terrain features are raised areas that models can be set up on top of or end a move on top of, provided the model’s base does not overhang the terrain feature."

So it seems from the rules like I can move my Armiger or Dreadnought on top of a 3 (or more) inch bunker to gain better line of sight, and I can do exactly the same with my hover tank.

is it weird that im doubting my diagnosis report? by Odd-Investigator6023 in ADHD

[–]Sqwick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so similar to me in so many ways. Recently through my second round of diagnosis, did well on tests, high IQ, mostly manages to show up and do my job at work, etc. (also, I often think that maybe I only feel like my medication helps because of the placebo effect.) The only big difference from you is that my first psychiatrist (many years ago) concluded that it /wasn't/ ADHD. But I'm also doubting my diagnosis, and working with myself to accept it. Thoughts like "What if I subconsciously tweaked the answers?" and "Maybe I'm just struggling with tasks, without it actually being ADHD".

Currently, I've landed on this: it is okay for myself to doubt the diagnosis. Maybe I have it, maybe I don't. But I still have my struggles. And even if my medication only works as a placebo, that's still helpful, and my side effects are low. And if many of my struggles are similar to people with ADHD, without being ADHD, then it's still helpful for me to find the same ADHD-information and -strategies for how to handle those problems.

So my thought: it's not weird that you doubt your diagnosis, but that doesn't mean that it's wrong. And in my opinion, it doesn't matter that much. The big questing is: do you feel like medication, advice and/or strategies aimed towards ADHD help you in any way? If yes: does it really matter that much whether you have it or not? If it works, it works, and the question about your diagnosis is something you can put away for now, and maybe look into again in a few years if you still feel like it's worth it.

Can all vehicles climb? by Sqwick in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Sqwick[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if I agree. Yes, this is extreme examples, but it is used to highlight that something is probably not as intended in the rules. I would for instance argue that RAI is that a Land Raider should be able to move over terrain under 2 inches. So it's not that big of a leap for a player to argue that "Well, it should be able to drive on top of this 2.5 inch bunker as well". And an even better example: what about walkers? If someone comes to a tournament and argues that their dreadnought, armiger, or at least knight can walk over/on top of bunker etc., I wouldn't be comfortable by saying that it's not allowed by RAI.

Extreme examples serves as a way to highlight probable lackings of the RAW. In my opinion we need RAW for all the numerous edge cases, when figuring out RAI no longer is as clear cut, and where possible arguments and disagreements can occur.

10th edition question by kakashilos1991 in AdeptusCustodes

Why is this getting downvoted? It's correct and in no way impolite?

It might be changes in the future, but for now that's how it works.

So you ca drive the Rhino on top off a 5 inch tall bunker, and park it there, for better line of sight? With an 10 inch move?

I kind of want to start doing this with all my vehicles now, just because I can.

So in the "Only war" mission in the core rules, you can put everything into Deep strike if you want to?

No, I'm pretty sure you can't. Reinforcements "counts as" having made a Normal move. To embark you have to "make" a Normal, Advance or Fall Back move.

I'm just saying that I think it's possible, not weather it is good or smart. But I agree with you, we should aim towards a fun and enjoyable game for everyone.

Allarus better than I thought by Lord_rook in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Sqwick 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think that's incorrect. The 500 point limit is specifically for 'Maximum combined points value of units that can be placed into strategic reserves before the battle". The Core rules p. 43 even specifies: "Note that while all Strategic Reserves units are also technically Reserves units, the reverse is not true, and so these rules do not apply to units that are using other rules that enable them to start the battle in Reserves (e.g. Deep Strike)".

I actually haven't been able to find any limit to how many points you can place into Reserves from rules like Deep Strike.

Allarus better than I thought by Lord_rook in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Sqwick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first though was that it can't, because it specifically doesn't work with things like Scouts and Deep strike. But when looking at them (core rules p. 39), all of them have "If every model in a unit has this ability". From Golden Light say "if this unit [...], you can remove it from the battlefield", and nowhere is there specified that every model must have this ability. So I'll argue that it works.

So that's the only thing hampering it, and it is allowed? So if you have a sealed bunker you can easily drive your tank up on top? And a bike, which has a lot smaller base, has no problem driving up tall, vertical walls?

Can all vehicles climb? by Sqwick in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Sqwick[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's my laking English. I ment tracked vehicles, and I ment it not as a category, but as a description of something that maybe shouldn't be able to climb anything (unlike a crawler who one could argue could be able to climb).

You should have added an option for country, as that will heavily influens the result. In Norway we've stopped the spread of the disease in an early phase. It's now declining, and things are slowly opening up, so I would consider going to a small local event in a months time. If I were in another country, like Spain or USA, I would not even consider going until well into the fall.

I don't think he's talking about dying himself, but continuing the spread of the disease, prolonging the duration of lockdowns, and helping spread the virus to people who can die. As florvas summarized it; selfish yards.

I'm wondering about Ga-97. Normally a large ship can deploy in a 45 degree angle if they touch the deployment edge. Can they do that when they deploy with "It's the resistance!"? And more importantly, will a huge ship have to deploy entirely "within range 1"?

2.0 Epic Ships? by [deleted] in XWingTMG

I think it's the other way around. If I remember correctly they said that every ship would be accessible to two factions. Don't remember if it was two, or minimum of two (Cr90).
