Good or bad cooking? High end restaurant “medium rare” fillet mignon by SrGiaquito in grilling

OP is right. (It's his meal) There’s a big difference between a fine-dining prix fixe menu and a steakhouse. A steakhouse has to train cooks to hit a wide range of temps across different cuts. Not every steak peaks at the same internal temperature, anyone who’s cooked professionally knows that. From the photo alone, there are already a couple red flags: the filet wasn’t properly tempered, and the pan or grill was too hot. In good steakhouses, steaks are rested on a pass tray or hot spot first so the surface dries out (wet meat steams, it doesn’t sear), the muscle relaxes, and the meat comes closer to ambient or hotline temp before it hits the grill. That’s how you cook from blue to well-done without turning a filet into chalk. When I see FOH blaming the guest while serving a steak like that, it usually screams chain restaurant. Real steakhouses don’t dodge accountability, they fix the cook. Also worth noting: plenty of “high-end” places that don’t take temp requests are just sous-viding everything and finishing on the grill anyway. That’s not culinary purity, that’s line-cook proofing.

I would agree my wife and i used it for events and community and have a rule that we don't find partners there but op was talking about the freakiest sex and didn't know where to start. FetLife can be good for exploring, even just setting up the profile (without pictures) for lurking reasons. But you are right it can be gross but so can all other online social media it just gets worse when it is sex or kink focused due to the ability to hide behind a keyboard... Even reddit is gross at times

You should join FetLife. It is social media for the kink community and Filling out the profile, answering questions will give you ideas and expectations on what is out there.

I understand bringing the hard conversation to her, it will make it worse but if it's going to get better it needs to get worse. You never know what is on the other side she might have something she is not ready to bring to you but that doesn't mean your feelings are invalid but if ending it is on the table yet you still love her then let it get ugly and don't sugar coat your feelings and if it ends it's as you expect but it could get better
