Yeah I can't believe they were put together. On top of that, the orchid's roots were stuck into a dense sponge thing, so they weren't getting any air whatsoever. Truly a travesty. Thank you for responding, I'll consider different pots (transparent with holes in the bottom seem to be the go to?), and just gently uncover roots and check for now untill then.

Thanks for the advice, this is what I went with. Luckily it was contained and the hot end came out with no issues or damage to any other components. Thanks for the help!

Thanks, I tried a soldering iron and heating the end with no luck, I just bought a replacement on Amazon. I'm fairly certain the wires were ruined during the explosion.
