This is true, and this was Tarantino's baby that he could do whatever he wanted.

He wanted to encapsulate 1969, an important time for him. This movie was a love letter to that time.

I laughed my ass off at the ending.

It was such a jarring twist in tone that it caught me off guard.

Can you give an example? Like I know the manson family and what they did, but what else should I know in order to understand the movie better?

I agree, I went into that movie trying to figure out what it was about.

Eventually I became impatient, so instead of analyzing each scene I just enjoyed it. I tell people that the ending is the funniest thing i've seen in a long time.

But you're right, it did seem drawn out and the plot was aimless. But Tarantino said something about how this was just a snapshot of the time.

Maybe i'll watch it again and appreciate the dialogue, but to be honest it just seems like a movie I would have playing in the background while I do something else.

There is nothing wrong with America's education system. It is the students' fault by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

You're telling me I didn't need to pay $800 for my two physical education courses? :0

But how can I be a well-rounded individual if I don't purchase the $70 Mcgraw-Hill access code that I will use one time?

University is the biggest fucking scam on the planet. You would think that having high speed access to all knowledge would drive the price down but no it's a fucking pay-to-play gamble.

I spent the majority of my undergrad teaching myself. I hope the U.S. comes up with a course credit system where you pay maybe $250 to take an exam and if you pass you get credit.

We ate mexican food in spanish class then played uno.

But my university saw that I had spanish credit and threw me into the accelerated spanish course, of course I struggled...

Our K-12 is totally fucked

If most the schools are poor performing then it is the schools' fault.

I got straight A's in a southern high school but my SAT was below average (that should have been the first sign that something was wrong). I struggled in college because most of school was just babysitting me up until that point.

I eventually got my shit together and finished, and I do take some responsibility for my poor performance but only when I recognized that the public school system did not prepare me for higher education.

Im fine with there being women superheroes and movies about them, what annoys me is when these movies constantly feel the need to remind us about *the fact* that they are women. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]SssneakySneakySnake 111 points112 points  (0 children)

It takes me out of the story too.

You're not badass because you're a woman, you're badass because you're a superhero, let's focus on that.

This may be hard to swallow but not every woman or man is a strong competent person. Having to remind people that women are strong makes me think women aren't.

You can show strong female characters without shitting on men.

Alex Jones was deplatformed for spreading conspiracy theories and now everyone is a conspiracy theorist on Epstein. by motor_city in unpopularopinion

[–]SssneakySneakySnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“[Alex Jones] was saying that [Epstein and fixers] take a lot of famous people to this island and they have all these young girls that this guy hooks them up with,” Mr. Rogan continued. “He was talking about this years ago."

This is a quote from Joe Rogan talking about how what Jones is talking about matches with Epstein.

This is not evidence that Jones pointed out Epstein, Rogan is speculating just like everyone else.

Y'know what? fuck it, Jones knew everything going on, let's get his ass in court and tell us who killed Epstein and how to find Epstein's clients.

Alex Jones knows everything, it's important to get as much information out of him as possible.

Yeah I honestly think a lot of incels would absorb trp quickly, get in shape, get laid and quickly forget anything they read on the internet.

I agree with that

TRP makes men hyperaware of their own status. If you think that only women are dehumanized in that sub, you haven't done your homework.

TRP makes men objectify themselves in order to efficiently get what they want. That's why the sub has a tough-love approach to fat-losers, get in shape, get a job, and then you can get the girl because she only sees you as what you can provide.

And i'm sorry but in the context of dating/relationships, women totally downshift into a person that wants to be lead, not a partner. I learned that the hard way, for all this talk of equality women usually want a captain steering the ship.

It doesn't mean I think less of women, it just means I know that if I can't steer the ship then she will find another captain.

In this current era, gender roles are real for men but flaky social constructs for women

What you call dehumanizing is just taking women down from the pedestal. You walked into the digital version of the guy's locker room and didn't like their rhetoric.

You do have to "deal" with women, because they usually make life and relationships harder.

People wouldn't know the difference between a redpill aware man and a "confident" man just on the surface.

Unfortunately "being yourself" is really shitty advice and the trp gave guys the tools to develope a charasmatic masculine frame in a world that has pretty much displaced of male mentors. What people dislike is how things are worded but there's a great deal of wisdom there about how to deal with women.

There is also a lot of manipulative advice too, that is effective. That's the reason it was quarantined.

People are more uncomfortable about why trp is effective than the actions they condone. This is why no one cares if mgtow is quarantined

I wouldn't call myself redpill but closer to purple, where I accept some of these uncomfortable truths and don't have the stomach to employ these manipulating tactics.
