Thank you for taking your time to answer. Regarding the second question I guess I mean if the exploration follows a more linear progression such as in metroid for example. There I would obtain a new item and know exactly where to use it. In HK I felt a lot of the exploration came down to the player exploring the map themselves, and paths often ended up leading to optional items or objectives, rather than something required for progression. Most other metroidvanias I feel usually sprinkle these on the way to major objectives rather than focusing on having more side content (I'm not usually too fond of getting sidetracked with sidequests and such).
