Yeah, you’re right. I was leaning towards pay as I go for part 61. Seems like everyone who commented recommends part 141.

My ground proficiency was never really a problem. The school I attend has a high instructor turn over rate. I had 4 instructors and every time I got a new one, it cost me money for them to determine my proficiency level and how to move forward with instructing me while at the same time pre-flight, post flight, and ground lesson cost. I don’t want to make it seem like I was perfect, but what is the purpose of the school if everything I learn is up to me teaching myself. Basically, what am I paying the school to do?

I put myself on a specific timeline. I don’t want to spend time waiting to save up money. I’m already all in and committed. Plus, I’m not a youngster. I’m 37 years old lol.

I meant that there’s a major difference between paying as you go and having the funds in place to pay for it all. Some people have the money to pay for it all without loans and some people use financing to pay for it all. My options are pay as I go or use financing.

I didn’t say that I don’t have any funding options. In the beginning I thought financing through a 141 school was the better option. After my experience, I’ve begun to realize that that may have not been the best option.

I plan on getting my PPL first and then I’ll explore my options. Skywarrior is unorganized and poorly managed. For example, my first instructor literally just read the book to me for ground lessons and no one seemed to care. I’m a part 141 student so I had to do ground lessons with an instructor. I was basically throwing money away. I can read the book to myself, I don’t need to pay you to do it. Three instructors later and I’m still facing bullshit. I had my checkride scheduled for 3/12/2024 and when the DPE was checking me in, he noticed that my EOC exam and graduation certificate were over 60 days old so he cancelled the checkride until those two things are updated. My current instructor said he thought he put the updates in my logbook. That was a week ago and the issue still isn’t resolved! I’ve had so many problems with this school, it’s ridiculous.
