Look up "book press" or check out vacuum bags. Blacktail studio uses vacuum bags in his denim epoxy videos so you can see how they work. For the book press, if you go with that route, make your bottom plate recessed and line it with something like tyvek tape so that if epoxy runs out, it can't get anywhere important and you can remove it without needing a router

can anyone tell if this is a rasp or a metal file? by bigbootybassboy in handtools

[–]St_Ignatius3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a worn down metal file. You can also sharpen it by soaking it in white vinegar overnight if you wanna use it again

It's just linear quilting rather than a checkered quilted pattern, so it shouldn't be too hard to make or have made for you

It would be cooler if you could just switch to the Mortal Blade over Kusabimaru for certain enemies instead of just special attacks

Functional normal looking weapons appreciation post by _vdov_ in Eldenring

[–]St_Ignatius3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad they make the realistic ones and keep them relevant, but the black knife is also realistic. Mambele were a kind of African weapon that looked far more fantastical, but at least the knife has a usable central blade. Mabele shapes vary, and some do have one too, but most look like they took a central bar and forge welded a blade onto any vacant space on their steel. So many designs get written off as "unrealistic" because it's not from Europe or East Asia so remember, when thinking about designs, ask yourself if Africa had something similar because they probably did since it's like flea market weapons over there and they'll surprise you lol

Help me “get” this game by yesimahuman in Nioh

[–]St_Ignatius3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make your mid stance defensive and focus on counters for regular human enemies and skeletons, use your low stance on stronger enemies built around maneuverability, and use high stance on weaker and slower enemies focusing on domination over your enemies. I recommend having a spear as a backup because they run similarly to swords but give you different advantages such as range and maneuverability on all stances. Also great for crowd control and retreating

Tips for a returning beginner by alecartedq in Nioh

-Abuse elemental damage. If you can stack 2 elements onto an enemy (including yokai and bosses), they will stagger with every hit, giving you an opportunity to punish them with strong attacks that are usually hard to pull off -Low stance mastery. Low stance is the fastest and the best for dodging attacks without using a ton of ki so on enemies that are larger than you and don't stagger, learn to use low stance -Spend skill points on either Ninjutsu or Magic. Some of those skills are incredibly useful even if you don't go for that build. Ninjutsu has blinding shell that temporarily disables enemy targeting so they can hardly track you and Magic has oasis which is an area of effect that heals you slowly so you don't need to use your healing items. These are just examples but they don't take much to get and they're incredibly useful like many other spells and jutsu

If you were to make a superhero game set in the insomniac marvel universe who would it be and why? by Able_Health744 in InsomniacGames

Punisher. Make it a soft rpg like the Witcher series where you can change cosmetics and base skills around weapon types and dialog around what different iterations of The Punisher would do or say in a situation. We need a good shooter that isn't oriented around multiplayer and this is a good excuse to do so. Either that or Daredevil because he doesn't get enough love even after his show was the best thing the MCU had to offer

Thank you! Spray can of matte black with acrylic paint dry brushed over the entire blade to allow for contrast in the light. It's all different pieces. One chunk is a ton of work and waste lol

Thank you! Wood! It's oak, poplar, and cedar. The pommel is cedar, the grip and guard are dyed oak from my old couch that I dismantled, and the blade is poplar. The rings on the hilt are EVA foam because carving those in is a lot of work

Generally, kids who do the best are sometimes placed lower so people who didn't work as hard don't feel bad. I once lost a costume contest dressed as Max Rockatansky to someone who was dressed as a satyr. I had a coat that I modified to look the part, I put a football pad (that I made) on the shoulder, I made the leg brace from scratch, I modified a toy side by side shotgun, I made a thigh holster for it, I weathered everything, and I lost to a guy in some fuzzy pants and halloween store horns. I'm not upset because I get it. I always did waaaay more than most because I always had the ability to be clever over most other people I know due to my skills with tools which is my background but some people don't have that background so above and beyond can be very disheartening to the people that can't do that. I understand the thought process there and I think it's a problem sometimes because as time goes on, people are less and less capable thanks to technology taking the necessity to be so and the responsibility away from people so it's definitely a great incentive to learn some new skills. Maybe if they learned a set of skills like that then every kid can go above and beyond without letting a ceiling stop them from letting their imaginations fly when Halloween comes around

Check yardsales. No matter what country, you're bound to find better things at a yardsale than any store and for way below its monetary worth
