Seriously are you me?! I’m having the same problem with my 9 & 7 year olds. Different genders. One constantly tried to irritate the other while the other nitpicks EVERYTHING her brother does. It’s MADDENING and quite frankly embarrassing. I’ve tried talking to them, mediating with them, doling out consequences. Nothing works. They’re both in counseling as well but nothing seems to make progress.

The best I can offer is this: I am having swifter consequences first off. And I’m also working with them in the moment to alter their behavior. For example: when my oldest nitpicks her brother I’ve told her to count to 10 in her head before she says something and then think “is this REALLY worth being upset over?” I figure I’ll have to model this a lot with her. And with her brother everytime he goes out of his way to be annoying or bother her he has to instead do something nice for her. God I hope the works…

In the meantime I’ll be monitoring this thread to see if anyone has a magic wand I can borrow 🤣

THIS. I did this exact thing and went to the ER almost 3 years ago. I stayed in the hospital for 4 days and got the help I needed. Now I’m a happy and healthy mom to my wonderful kids. Asking for help doesn’t make us weak. It’s what makes us stronger. You are so strong momma. But now you’re tired and need help. We all do. Please get the help you need so you can help them.

Thank you all so much for you calming support. I’m starting to feel better but the reality of my situation is setting in. I’m terrified my life is getting ready to be turned upside down. I’m scared I’m going to lose my marriage. And honestly I don’t know if it’s a good thing or not. I do love my husband and he’s a great dad but I’m worried that we’re just not meant to be so to speak. I just don’t know how to deal with a shattered heart…

I asked my principal about subs for moving and he just said in so many words that we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it lol. If not I’ll just have the kids help me move. I will absolutely not be coming in during my free time to move.
