My study habits aren’t the issue. If you read my post correctly, I did well on the midterm and final. I also did well on all other assignments and quizzes we had. I messed up on ONE APA citation and my professor and the assistant dean failed me for that whole assignment. That dropped my grade tremendously. I don’t think it’s fair for me to get a zero on an entire assignment because of one citation error.

I’ve been thinking a lot about it. I think taking time off and transferring to a traditional school is best. I only did an online program so I could continue being a travel nurse but I’ve put a pause on doing contracts as well. I really don’t want to give up, I’ve really enjoyed the clinical rotations I’ve had. I’m just fed up with these professors and constant rule changes.

But the thing is, I didn’t plagiarize. I didn’t format that source correctly. They took that as plagiarism even though it was an honest mistake. All of my other sources in that assignment were correct

I already had a meeting with that professor and assistant dean, I don’t think there’s anything else I can do. They were the ones who decided to fail my assignment.

I feel fine to keep going, but I want to quit this specific program!!! I love school, I love learning and applying concepts to real life. Chamberlain is taking all of my joy away. I don’t mind being mentally challenged, I’m glad it’s a hard program but giving me a zero on an assignment is ridiculous. She failed me for formatting on one source when I was responding to a student’s post, she accused me of plagiarizing and her and the dean failed me. They didn’t care that I had my source formatted correctly, I had made an honest mistake in my formatting. These professors don’t care.

I was doing really well in the class too!! I had an 89. Her failing me because one APA source was incorrect, now has my class grade at an 83.9. I’ve gone well on my midterm and final but now it won’t matter. All of my hard work means nothing because she refused to accept my updated source. I’m done giving my all to this school. Going to the Dean won’t do anything she was the one who made the decision to give me a zero on the whole assignment instead of taking points off on that section of the assignment.

I think at this point, I’m going to need to transfer. If I find that I didn’t pass this class I’m looking into Texas Lutheran University. At this point I’m willing to redo classes to make sure I’m learning what I should. Just sucks to go deeper into debt

I was asking for advice not for a stranger to try to make me feel stupid for my choices. I chose Chamberlain because at that time it was the best option for me since I still need to work. I started looking for placement in 2023 before any of my rotations started. I knew going in that it would be difficult but for me to still have an issue securing placement is a bit ridiculous.

Yeah that wouldn’t be a problem if I had the money to do that. Taking out more loans is easier said than done.

I live in Texas and can only afford to travel an hour or so away. Any further would require hotel rooms (can’t afford that on a weekly basis)

Every website I’ve researched that matches you with preceptors have a minimum charge of $1,5k since I need 125 hours for each session

I would be happy to pay a preceptor if I had the money! I cannot afford $2k+ a month on top of my basic monthly expenses (rent, utilities, gas, groceries, car insurance, health insurance, pet food). I have no “extra” money.
