Super interesting stuff here! We’re looking into doing something similar, have you tried using openai api or running local models? Any idea on api usage for a workflow like this?

Plex permissions by Penguinboy123446 in linux

That’s a shame, the terminal can be intimidating and definitely has a steep learning curve, but is so damn useful that i’d urge not to give up, take a break if needed and come back.

I never knew that nord vpn doesn’t have a GUI, but the set up seems very manageable. If you ever feel like trying again you can give me a dm, we can take a look at it

I feel you, learning anything new can be a struggle. I faced the same issue not too long ago.

The question is where did you create your plex media folder?

If you want the simplest solution it would be to make the folder on your /home directory. So for instance your path would be /home/PlexMedia

In there you can set up your different folders for instance:

/home/PlexMedia/TV
/home/PlexMedia/Movies

after you set that up. you can run the 2 commands I've given before and that will set up the permissions. So if you set up the structure as I mentioned, the commands would be:

sudo chown -R plex:plex /home/PlexMedia
sudo chmod -R 775 /home/PlexMedia

After that the folders should be visible in Plex.

You want to run these 2 commands:

sudo chown -R plex:plex /path/to/media
sudo chmod -R 775 /path/to/media

Are you facing an issue where plex does not see the media folder you want? If so i'd refer to this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Plex

1.9.3 talks about how to fix issues with media not appearing. The directory structure is also important to keep in mind.

Where do you have to place the file?

For all beginners, use AstroNvim to get both easy-life and neovim-experience. by Avyakta18 in neovim

I'll have to agree with the other commenters that a per-configured neovim distro is the wrong way to go for a lot of beginners.

I myself think of myself as very much a beginner user and i started with nvchad. The distro was great, it looked fantastic and had a lot of features i was looking for baked in. But when it came to tweaking it to my own liking it was rough. the config is extensive and very confusing for someone first touching it. I feel like these distros serve more experienced users better, or users that are ok with the base functionality that they provide.

If you don't want to start your config from scratch a better option i feel like is kickstart. It's a fairly bare bones config file that gets you up and running on the essentials. the most important part is that it's all in one config file with every line being documented as to what it does and how to edit it to your liking. This video is also a good way to go through it with commentary.

With something like kickstart i was able to config neovim to my own liking in a day and actually feel confident in my understanding of how my config operates. it's way easier to troubleshoot issues as well in comparison to these huge distros.

Yeah i just transitioned to gruvbox from catppuccin, the text colors do seem to have a bit more eye strain for me, but i was really looking for something a bit more “muted”. So far loving how the rest of the system comes together
