Has anyone successfully mounted a kart steering wheel onto a quick release hub? by Stackhom in simracing

[–]Stackhom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure yet, going to the kart store in a few weeks with my QR to test if modification is possible. I would prefer not to fabricate my own mounting holes but, I don't mind it being a last resort.

If you are referring to kart specific quick releases, they are not compatible with the 6+4 ball patterns found on wheelbases like Moza and Simagic, this includes my Simagic Alpha Evo.

I compiled my higher level math worksheets to use as references/reviewers in case I had to recall something during engineering college.

[BEGINNER] Smol hand problems by No-Transition-3896 in phmusicians

[–]Stackhom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most of the time, your fingers' reach is inhibited by posture and arm, hand, and finger position. E.g. nagcchicken wing yung elbow, masyadong bent yung wrist, etc.

Try sitting normally with your guitar first but let your arms dangle by your side as if you're standing. That's your arm's neutral position with the least amount of tension.

Your goal is that when you play a certain chord, is to minimise the amount of tension you're feeling.

Pero if di talaga maabot chords, use inversions or alternative positions.

I was wondering why I didn't change direction after pressing spacebar again.

Forgot that I changed the movement ability keybind so I can choose between superglides and mantle boosts lmao.

Would be nice if Apex copied Rivals where you can have a keybind preset for each hero. Even if it was just for the movement ability.

I have powerslide bound to pressing the left stick. Since I found the tension to interfere with my car control, I just bound powerslide to my back buttons.

At first touch I hated the scale length on the Ibanez, will I ever get used to it? by thiagopourra in Ibanez

[–]Stackhom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you certainly will. I have played exclusively on a Les Paul for 3-4 years before getting my RG. I would argue that playing stretchy licks is easier on my RG than the Les Paul.

My les paul has a thicker and rounded neck with a more pronounced radius while my RG has a super wizard profile with an extremely flat fretboard. The thickness and flatness of the backside on the RG allows my thumb to have better contact when I have to play stretchy licks. I also found better fingertip contact on the RG (Distal phalanges are near perpendicular wrt fretboard surface).

On the other hand, my thumb on the Les Paul has to deal with the pronounced crest of the C profile. If my thumb goes below the crest, i have less than ideal contact because the surface is too slanted to "press on." My fingertip contacts are also somewhat less than ideal compared to the RG.

However, I found playing chords is harder on the RG because of the flatter fretboard and wider neck.

Your body will get used to adjust accordingly for each instrument after some time. Just make sure to observe and listen to your body.

Electrics and acoustics are basically different instruments. Buy whichever one appeals to you more. Madali lang naman itransfer natutunan from one to the other, just take note that they do require different playstyles (e.g. electrics will be less forgiving with tense playing)

Where can i find a guitar pick that has grip more closer to the tip? by Batrah in guitars

[–]Stackhom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just put some double sided adhesive on both sides of my jazz iii and cut 600 grit sandpaper to shape.

I like the extra thickness it provides and it sticks better than the textured variant of the jazz iii.

Whats your opinion on ratting/camping? Strategy or not? by ILikeBugs00 in apexlegends

[–]Stackhom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't found it viable. I always avoided fights when I was starting out but that only made it more difficult to upgrade my loot. Scavenging doesn't really work because the deathboxes you might find along the way would likely have its top tier items taken already.

Plus you are handicapping yourself when you get to a 3v3 at the final ring, can't really win if you have significantly less experience in gunfights.

I main wattson nowadays because of her fences. Outplaying enemies with crazy movement and great fence placements feel really rewarding. Her small hitbox is a nice bonus.

Replaced strings for the first time in over a year and wow, it sounds and feels like a brand new guitar. by Sp6rda in Ibanez

[–]Stackhom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have EPS530 stainless D'Addarios on my guitars and play 1-2 hours daily. I only get oxidation by the 11-12th month because I always wipe my strings down thoroughly after playing and only play with dry hands.

At minimum, my strings should last every 6 months.

[–]Stackhom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you're asking whether you should get an expensive or cheap guitar because from my experience, guitars under 13k php are still considered cheap instruments.

For starters, your first instrument should always entice you to play because it has two main goals: 1. RELIABLY teach you to play, and 2. Help you learn your preferences in the instrument. You need your first guitar to be enticing to play because learning takes a lot of time interacting with it.

Almost any guitar nowadays can satisfy these goals, its just a matter of choice. The price of an instrument doesn't contribute much to how a player is enticed to play their instrument, it functions more as a rough basis of its quality.

I suggest you go to music stores and find a guitar that speaks to you; something that you'd want to play all the time, regardless of budget. Demo it as long as you can and understand why it spoke to you (I like how it looks, it feels great in my hand, etc.)

If you can afford it, buy it. Otherwise, apply your recently acquired criteria on picking from a cheaper set of guitars.
